You're so naturally poetic, karren. I enjoy reading everything I've seen that you've written. Hope you'll continue to pursue this in your personal life, as well.

Such a fitting poem for a true friend 8) .

This is such a lovely poem Karren :D
Everything in there :)...
Real deep friendship itself is a challenge at times, but that is what makes it prove itself.
Something to deeply treasure in this life, and one of the nicest subjects to write about too :)

(A silly-billy but genuine one on the theme of real friendship...

''I believe that you are my Best Friend
Like I've never believed it before
For here you still stand beside me...
When even my sanity left through the door'')

And your silly-billy is more genuine than silly, Alsiony. It reminded me of a segment on NPR that I heard the other day about mental illness, where the commentators and mental health experts [those are the ones who have been mentally ill for a very long time and can speak with authority on the validity of their theories and observations ;-) ]... okay, back to serious, were stressing that, with mental illness, people maintaining their friendships and supportive contact with a person going through a mental health breakdown is one of the strongest predictors for full recovery. When people were shunned and stuck away in institutions for years, it's no wonder so many remained there for the rest of their lives.

So, now we have a lovely poem and a lovely ditty. Truer words were never . . .

I enjoyed your poem Karren.
It's true, good friends who'll stand by you no matter what are very special.

I was asked to re-post this poem on this thread.
It means a lot to me and so does my friend!

My Friend

There is sunshine on the window,
Even though it’s dark outside.
There is laughter from within me,
Although teardrops fill my eyes.
There’s a peace that wraps around me,
Although storm clouds gather near.
There’s a friend that stands beside me,
So there’s nothing I will fear.

There’s a wild air about me,
That they know cannot be tamed.
There are things they know about me,
But they love me just the same.
There are words that go unspoken.
There are many secrets shared.
And my friend still stands beside me,
So I know they really care.

There’s a look that’s filled with mischief,
That a friend can sometimes dread.
There’s a smile that’s given freely’
If they read what’s in my head.
There’s a friend that never judges,
No matter what I do.
And my friend’s still here beside me.
Do you know that friend is you?

Karren B xx

Thanks Alsiony for that.

And make it a part of you.
It will give you strength'
