did hang themselves
in shame
thirty pieces of silver
was not a lot to gain
and the lovers kissed
down a leafy lovers lane
and abel did kill cain
and clark kent did love lois lane
where is passion without the fame?
and the freedom without the pain?
and the whoredom without the shame?
and the crowd cried thrice
as they rolled the dice
a lucky seven is too much to gain
for we are in danger of finally breaking the vein
that draws the gambler to despair
for we cannot comprehend the why or where
of a lucky streak
or a weekend in twin peaks
or when the odds goes down
or the universal appeal of a clown
and the puppets did move aloof
at the thundering of a white horses hoof
and the wells of despair
did not manage to find
any fancy diamonds in your mind
