The Future is Kracow

Give me back my scheduled flight
My hotel room, my social life
It’s lonely here
I cannot take this torture
Get me through passport control
To answer Kracow’s waiting call
And fly on Polish airlines
That’s an order

Don’t give me flack and futile text
I’ll take the only flight that’s left
And head straight out of here
To Polish culture
No longer is the Berlin wall
No more I worship at St Paul
I’ve seen the future brother
Look no further

Friends will all collide collide from all directions
Won’t be nothing
But pleasure anymore
The blizzard of the ash
Has gone forever
And I long to step
Outside the airport door
When they said Event
I knew just what they meant
When they said Event
My time would be well spent
When they said Event
I’ll go with keen intent

You don’t know me from the wind
But my goodwill is underpinned
For I’m the little man
With a forum bible
I’ve seen this website rise so tall
I’ve read the stories read them all
Now I’d like to make it much more tribal
I’m landing here it must be told
The sky is clear it’s not too cold
Until it ends we don’t go any farther
And as the wheels of my plane stops
I see the restaurants ‘ bars and shops
I’m ready for the future

I am sorry but i live in the flightpath of heathrow and it was the quietest 5 days i've ever known.
It was a wonderful poem though,
But i,m still waiting for the next erruption.

Sincere appologies to all but if you had to listen to aircraft landing every 2 minutes you would be waiting too.

If Yorkshire lad is actually from yorkshire then he is very lucky.
Have spent many wonderful days there.

I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect by way of a response to my poem and I can tell you yours took me totally by surprise . Why is it in this world we live in some people's enjoyment has to be at the expense of others . When I wrote the chorus it never occured to me that some peoples lives would actully benefit from the volcanic ash cloud .
Please do not feel the need to apologise !
And yes I am from Yorkshire and now you come to mention it I suppose I am lucky there isn't an airport within 80 miles of our house
