We have a big field behind our house which would be ideal for a concert. It may not be Lissadell House and we don't have any sea views but we do have excellent communications and plentiful hotel accommodation, sitatued as we are just 1.5 ml from the Belfry golf centre and c. 20 mins from the National Exhibition Centre.

We also have literary associations a plenty. The village is in Shakespeare's county of Warwickshire. It was mentioned in the Doomsday Book as the centre of England and Dr Johnson's Lichfield is just down the road.

How about Llandudno N.Wales? He's never been to N.Wales and there is great venue there,quite intimate,and so much easier for me to get to!
Plus,he could take the day off and visit the Great Orme where he can take in the wonderful scenery,even better, an outdoor concert on The Great Orme!
Can you imagine us all going on the chair lifts and the tram to see him? Eat your heart out 'Sound of Music'

While I personally do not have a good enough venue to offer - certainly not compared to those just down the road in Cardiff! (My garden is full of potatoes and chickens and the like at the moment )...

...I would be prepared to do all kinds of trades in return for any UK date... as I cannot make it to Sligo afterall (am gutted about that!)

Though I do not know what I may have that is worthy to give

I suppose something that I could probably do for Leonard, (that would probably benefit the whole of humanity too), would be to stop singing loudly in the bath - and especially 'Bird on a wire' and 'Lover, Lover, Lover' two of my most favourite songs ever. Now while I don't consider that I have the most horrendous singing voice possible ( )...banning such behaviour would at least benefit my cat Arthur, because on the two seperate occasions that I sung those songs whilst he was present - he fell in the bath both times

I will have a think of what other things I can promise to do in my desperate attempt to see Leonard again...

if we all pull together on this - it might actually work ya know

Absolutely devastated that work commitments mean I cannot go to Sligo! However, in an absolutely desperate bid to sort out my Autumn schedule ..... is there even the slightest most remote possibility that UK concerts might be planned 4th-7th Sept and/or 9th - 14th September??? If anyone can let me know asap (I have friends coming over from the USA for Proms In The Park and if there is a possibility of an LC Concert, they will be going to the Proms with out me !!!!!!!!!!)

Oh dear ... what do you we have to do to get a concert in the UK???

There are 56 million (or something) of us but the 2010 seems to be completely passing us by .......

Some of us are prepared to travel - to France or Belgium or further afield - but there are many fans here who cannot travel huge distances for various reasons and those of us who can travel are by now just plain ..... broke!

Please Leonard, please come and visit us again in the UK.

I know oh so well how you feel remote1, I am also feeling quite deflated. Am still not convinced it isn't about the so called 'British academics' and the like who keep hounding performers politically about Israel and others who use verbally bullying tactics. I hope I am wrong.

Keeping my fingers crossed that a UK concert or two will pop up some time on the Tour. Am pleased for the people around the world who will get to see Leonard in person for the first time, it is that thought that keeps me a bit more 'up'.

We ARE Europe, just that little bit of water seems to be alienating us.
As Mabeanie1 says, we can't all travel long distances due to health or financial reasons.

The only good thing about the election is that to get away from all the radio and TV coverage of who's who and what's what, and where it all leaves us, I have just had extra helpings of listening to Leonard.
That can't be bad.

Wow! How did you do that? Very impressive!
Do you mind if I make a copy and just change the name? My GP did not really get what I was on about. I kept explaining about wanting to see a handsome minstrel who was born with the gift of a golden voice, but he kept telling me that some people in white coats would pay a visit to my house a little later today. Needless to say I did not get the prescription. Do you think he was talking about canvassers? Because I understand that we may be getting a second election to settle matters in the very near future...
