.. that is a lovely Leonard poem.. or passage, Carm.

We get silly here sometimes, and it's nice to get grounded again, keeping sight of the person we're all here to in some way pay tribute to..

.. years ago, now, his songs, his lyrics, in a sense freed me up to express a deeper part of myself more fully..

Here's a poem I wrote in 2003, with war, again, at hand..

keep

to a mental
ordering. miniscule;
expansive

what will be remembered
without such thoughts
transcribed

without a child

what will be remembered
of the dead
of whom we hear nothing

of the slaughtered, entire families,
cultures

what will be remembered
for what’s left of their young

what will be saved

dreamt of.

words without context

words unspeakable

words without end

keep us now

Thanks, wonderful poetry.

v i o l e t…
We get silly here sometimes, and it's nice to get grounded again
Yes, we are fortunate
to experience both,
s i l l i n e s s
and the feeling of being
grounded.
Each at least,
produces some form of thought.

Just wanted to note that the image used in "I lost my way, I forgot…" is a very young 10 month old Leonard Cohen with his first dog "Kelef".

For some reason these words just came to mind…

And you wonder where we're going
Where's the rhyme and where's the reason
And it's you who cannot accept
It is here we must begin
To seek the wisdom of the children
And the graceful way of flowers in the wind
