I'm going to see Joan Armatrading in Llandudno next April.
I watched her in last year's Glastonbury and she was really good.

if i'd known you were a fan, Diane i'd have provided a `heads up` for mark's interview with simon mayo on radio 5 a short while ago.

alas, the interview has now disappeared from the bbc site - unless it's been unofficially stored elsewhere on the internet.

That interview looked interesting Sebmelmoth. I miss a lot of things unless people bring them to my attention, so I am grateful for your info about the tour. He toured last year and came to Cardiff then too (my nearest city), but by the time I found out it was sold out. Not buying a ticket for Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck at the O2 in Feb because I have decided to stop spending money I don't have is killing me though. Cheers:-)

there's a mark knopfler item in the nspcc dream auction - although it doesn't make clear whether it's a meet and greet or just being a spectator.

there's a meet and greet with peter andre for anyone who's interested

They are auctioning Elton John?? Is that how the London Evening Standard survives since it became a free paper? I'll put in a bid if he will play me the whole of Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy live in my living room. Happy Christmas Sebmel.

John Etherington I saw your good wishes earlier and I wish you a Christmas replete with good vibrations!

festive thanks, Diane - and the same to you.

i don't understand how the free standard can sustain a free model - they must be losing a hell of a lot of money - unless the owner just wants it as a vanity project.

apparently he now wants to purchase the independent and give that away free too.

Very interesting - definitely worth listening to if you want to hear how great artists think. It takes a little over an hour to listen to all five.

Thanks.

I saw Joan Armatrading in the late 80's in Wembley arena. She was great, and highly energetic, bouncing all over the stage. Enjoy the concerts kwills and faithfully. Tina Turner is another female artist I have seen a couple of times who has the most fantastic energy about her and is still touring. (I seem to rarely listen to female singers and that must be why it has taken six years to find the hidden track on Dido's rather good Life for Rent album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZKg5w8E9aM)
