Re: memorium for CP
Robin, I am intrigued about CP...
I love your brief yet whole piece. It inspires me and I hope you wouldn't mind if I added another for another in the same vein... (please forgive me if this would seem rude)
memorium for TH
remember lost laughter

mandolins jiggling

Hi Jaun...
you are not being rude just sharing...
CP was a good friend... i used to go to their house and study the sutras of Patanjali with a little group who gathered... i was honoured to be one of the few people her daughter would allow to babysit for her .. was asked to attend the daughters violin recitals, birthday parties... CP would play the harmonium and sing kirtan at our yoga gatherings... Chandra Prabha ( emily) used to call and talk for hours with me and i would spend much time going "yup.. uhuh..yup..." Satish her husband is a friend as well.... anyway on Jan 19, 2005... i turned on the TV... and saw pictures of a devastating mud slide in North Vancouver, caused by massive rains...... when i heard the tV talk of the area and from the areial photos i knew where it was... the house was gone pushed down the mountain and crushed like match sticks at 2 or 4 am... her husband had been in the bathtub and was tumbled down the mountain and ended up at the bottom half buried, stark naked , crushed but still barely alive when the rescuers got there...the neighbours had heard him moaning , dug him out and cleaned the mud from his mouth.. many years of recovery and he is still not 100 % ... CP body was dug out later... fortunatly the daughter was down in California at boarding school... her daughter is an amazing person, as we all knew she would be.... and i did help with care for CP's husband but that is another story...
Thanks for asking... i miss hearing her sing and play the harmonium "yup.. uhuh..yup..." all we have of our friends, is our heartbeats and our memories,,,

Re: memorium for CP
Robin,
That is such a sad story, my heart heaves... I hope you and your friends were able to find some healing for yourselves and each other. Wow, nature can be as wicked and cruel as it can be beautiful and kind...
It sounds like CP was to you similar to how TH was to me. He played beautiful mandolin and fiddle music and was sooooo much fun (mostly we laughed and joked), he didn't judge but took us as we were, he was a dearly beloved friend (and father to a young girl) but a serious mental illness caught him and us all by surprise and suicide was the end result. So young, so talented, so giving of spirit, so fondly remembered.
Kind regards
Juan
