Happy 2010 Jarkko and Eija, a lovely photo, I have never seen snow looking so COSY ! Here in Ireland there is white crisp frost, a clear sky and a bright moon. At ten minutes past midnight, "Alexandra Leaving" was played on RTE radio, that must be a good omen for the new year ! Best wishes to Leonard and to all my new friends on the forum.

Thank you for sharing the romantic scene that you look out upon, Jarkko and Eija. The sepia tones and unexpected underlit lighting are captivating.

May you have a safe, loving, warm, and happy new year.

My same wishes go to all who read this. They go to Leonard, as well, even if he doesn't. May 2010 fulfill the promise it holds. May we all experience the joy of seeing Leonard at least one more time.

Love,
Lizzy

Happy New Year to all Arjatsalos, to all Cohens, to the wonderful army of Cohenites and everybody associated to above mentioned. We don´t need much - good health is essential as is good company, and just a little bit of money for next leg of never ending tour of the UHTC!

PS: Picture is beautiful, similar scenes here in St. Petersburg, the only hiccup is digging car out of snow and ice every morning. Then again, I don´t have a car, I don´t have a problem.
And, anyway, it is winter, isn´t it?

I drive through Bedford sometimes. I wonder if she'll still be there next time I drive through.

hey everybody.

i find this to be a great opportunity to speak about something important:

many of you may have heard or read about yesterday' s tragic incident in espoo, finland, which obviously happens to be jarkko' s home town too.
i don' t mean to justify murder or any kind of crime or use it as a carrier for my message.
but it reminds me of one thing that really needs to be added to all of those solemn and hopeful wishes for next year:

we are always told to be brave, told to be patient and strong.
we are told to reduce our doubts and fears in favour of optimism or even love.
and infact:
living a life in fear and anger alone doesn' t seem to be the way at all.
but, and that is my message to all of you, there is no point in keeping one' s temper by all means and against all odds!
we' re all looking for happiness, peace, love and a place to call our home.
but what about those other places? a place to cry? a place to hesitate? a place to be hopelessly desperate or even desperately hopeless? we all need the space to live our feelings - including the deepest and darkest ones!

so, this year 2010 may bring moments of cheerfulness to many of you and i deeply hope that you' ll find a way to enjoy these moments.
but this year may also bring the worst and most terrifying things to many of you and i' m not urging you to "enjoy" those things, but i hope that you will take your time to mourn, to cry and to stop the machinery of life for one minute or one hour or one day or for the time you need.
take your time!

greetings from berlin, germany
