Hi everyone, came across this thread and I just submitted my nominations. Too bad the site doesn't have room for explanations. But I think k.d. lang's version of "Hallelujah" is the best recent one because she changed the way people performed the song afterwards, just as John Cale's version changed it in the early 1990s.

You may be right you know, but I love watching / listening to Rufus.
Actually, it doesn't seem to matter what he is singing/playing sometimes. It is an affliction I have, it comes and it goes. I have no control over it whatsoever
