You came at me in a two too pronged attack
"Prisoners are for pussies," you yelled
Taking a plunge at a lunge at my lungs
Side-swiped and side-swept shot your bolt
"Stand and take it, you bastard," fell you, knee-wards
At my stand-at-ease feet
"Not again! torn heart-strings shrivelled
again; how, why, where, when ?"
Your adverbs bore through me
lifting small lids of buried boxes
Each labelled by name, not yours.
"Who this time, next time ?
Dancing your eyes 'cross any room
You've got it, you get it, you spill it
you spoil it, you smell of it,
you bastard, again"
I turned on polished heels,
checked the mirror,
took stock
and left.
This bastard ain't for keeping.

Byran – You can tell the truth – this is about that stuffed cat in your avatar isn't it, has he been prowling? He looks he might be the roving kind.
I think you’ve probably done a good job here as by the end I find myself wanting to shout - “you JERK!!!...."
I've come back to read this a few times.
I really like the energy of this piece Byran as well as how you've used words in interesting ways.

oppps my apologies to Albert who I am told is a bear and who is very sweet as long as there is a bit of honey about - I meant no offense Albert

love it - don't completely understand it in the front of my head, but that's okay it's very visceral.Taking a plunge at a lunge at my lungs

Re: Next !
I came across this and I too have read it a few times.
I love it because it paints a perfect picture in my mind of a typical 'irresistable bas***d' so vividly.
The shrieking crazed woman- infact the whole interaction between the two characters and how the man makes the woman feel here, makes me smile when I contrast the scenario with a poem that I put up the other day.
I am reminded of the saying 'Can't live with 'em - can't live without 'em' - words which are of course applicable to both genders at times, but hopefully for anyone- not too often
