I was inspired by this poem:
You tell me that silence
Is nearer to peace than poems
But if for my gift
I brought you silence
(For I know silence)
You would say
"This is not silence
This is another poem"
And you would hand it back to me
inspiration
Hi Sandra ~
I love the gentle 'pacing' of your words in this, and your parenthetical "(For I know silence)" ~ your poem reminds me of someone trying to maintain a relationship with someone else who not only imposes, but keeps changing, the rules. One of the traits I learned is commonly associated with an Adult Child Of an Alcoholic [ACOA]. A very interesting phenomena, and an exasperating one to try to function within in a relationship.
I really enjoyed this poem....for more than one reason
.
