The sun is shining

Post by elfra »

Arise, my love, my dove, my beautiful one,
and come away;
for now the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land. (Sg 2:10-12)[/b]

Simply beautiful, elfra :) .....in the way of suggestion, it could use a break between "gone" and "The flowers" ~ or it could go on just as beautifully without it :D . It comprehensively rings with positive and appreciative overtones and undertones. Not only is the message such, but it feels and looks so poetic, as well. I love it. It's a morning I would love to be in on. Forgive me, but what is the meaning of "(Sg 2:10-12)"?

Hi Elizabeth.

Yes, it is a beautiful poem.
It's taken from Song of Songs in the Bible.
hence (Sg 2:10-12)

best wishes

:lol: ~ Interesting that I used the word "forgive me" in that context, eh? Perhaps I have read it before, but only the subconscious recalled and 'knew' what words to use. :shock: Interesting that I left them, as is, as I actually questioned myself on it, "Why are you saying 'forgive me'? ~ all you're doing is asking a question ~ and that's certainly not an offense, forgiveable or otherwise." However, "whew" on my positive response to it :lol: , but I guess I need to take my 'suggestion' up with another party, eh :wink: ? I've not read the entire Bible, only excerpts, in various contexts. However, "Songs of Solomon" is familiar to me as a 'section,' but "Song of Songs" wasn't/isn't. To what biblical figure is its writing credited?

It was a beautiful poem for sharing here. It brought such a lovely brightness.
