Neandertal Eden

Post by George.Wright »

Roaming around the plains like a hunched herd of hairy beasts
hunting, smelling, avoiding, wondering, if we were to feast
and a golden star appeared to our eyes in the fore
along the shimmering waters of that Kenyan lake shore
like a will-o-the-wisp, our eyes darted, uncertain of fear
and giant silver statues flew down from the giant golden sphere
we stopped and hid from the fire and the very noisy dust,
amongst the rocks and the serpent infested trees
but curiosity got the better of thee and me
Lifted up by the silver angels into the heaven's above
into the golden apple, there was a majestic city of love
strapped to a table surrounded by bright lights all around
then there was sleep and i fell back onto the ground
now, with strange eyes that burned deep inside
soon, i took another lifted one as my bride
and our child grew up straight and upright with very little body hair
showed us the secret of fire to cook and for light so bright and fair
we all started to paint on that darkened but now lit, cave wall
all that we learnt from the heavens, after we had that very fatefull fall

The plodding amaranth amanuensis
Needs to stop to analyse breeds extinct

On this of all nights
Of Cro-magnon man
Prehistoric rights

George

Now I can tell you even from the lowly estate of Musselburgh, that the Dinosaur Musical is definitely Dead.

It might be self-deception, Ben, to think we're really beyond that...
We're more efficient now - doing the same old wrong things. More efficient, sure. But more effective? I have my doubts...

Still religion, still murder, still war. Neandertal!

Dear Tom

Are you trying to spoil my fun with George? We never let the truth interfere with a good story or bad poetry. Men in Eden the tutorial years, man hasn't changed much in the 100,000 years.

Thanks for your instruction, but accuracy is not what I'm striving for.

Cheers

Tom, before "knowledge", they would have grunted to each other to instruct. Even after enlightenment, they still do the same. Some things never change.......
