Distant Love

Post by sammu5 »

This is a new poem which was inspired by Per-Olov Kindgren's beautiful new guitar solo called Distant Love. If you would like to listen to Mr Kindgren playing his piece please follow this link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_3oMOMybjY
My words are below, please feel free to comment. :D

Distant Love

I have dreamed
and dreamed of you
though not enough
my distant love

for darkness
has consumed you
like a glove
my distant love

and the moon
is cold and lonely
as she wanders
high above

where stars
once gave their music
only silence
keeps his touch.

I am sitting
on the headland
I am waiting
keeping watch

for the sun
to break the chains
that have bound me
to this rock

my heart
is like a moon
that is spilling
drop by drop

the silver light
of you
the soul that is
my blood.

The ocean prowls
beneath me
he is hungry
as a wolf

and his howl
is like my anguish
as I cry
my distant love.

How frail
my voice, my body
I am nothing
without us

the hands of time
move slowly
every second
is a loss

emptiness
consumes me
I am filled
with what I’ve lost

but at last
the sun is rising
like a tiny
spot of rust

the tears
that still are falling
soon, will wash away
the dust.

I raise my eyes
to heaven
there’s an angel
high above

he is carrying
a rosebud
he is guided
by a dove

and though
I hardly hear him
I know
it is enough

enough
to bring me closer
to you
my distant love.

I really love this :)

I feel wrapped up and caught in the mood of it.

My favourite part -

my heart
is like a moon
that is spilling
drop by drop

the silver light
of you
the soul that is
my blood.

Thanks Sam- I really like reading your stuff! :D
