Glad to read (from the translated Spanish article) that Leonard and his hat remain "Inseparable".

May he be healthy and fit for this challenge! God bless his soul!

ok, so just to put things on the straight :
there will be only one concert in Israel, in TLV.
and the 47,000 tickets were all sold in matter of hours.
the "open public sale" (not the pre-sale of this forum) began on sunday 09:00 AM if I recall correctly, and on the same day, 15:15 PM it was notified that "all the tickets have been sold".

What a shock. My partner told me the news when I was still in bed this morning---being a late riser--I literally fell out of bed!! Apparently he had seen the news on Sky this morning--so I sat glued to the TV--nothing.My computer wasn't working--only Just got it started up--so today I have lived many emotions--not knowing.Thank goodness he is OK--but I am worried--I really think he should now call it a day--hes given us so much--we have taken so much--let him now be.
Leonard I hope with all my heart you make a speedy recovery--We shall always love you. Please look after yourself--you have pushed yourself beyond all reasonable limits for us---Enjoy the rest of your life in peace, and knowing you are loved by so many.

Thank goodness and whatever else is around that he is ok. I was away at a Wedding when taking 5 minutes out checked BBC news - couldn't believe it!! Then I read the rest that he is suffering from food poisoning - sheesh what a relief!! Food poisoning is the pits and makes you feel awful - so good to hear that Leonard is well enough to continue with the Tour - what a trooper and so typical. Take care of yourself Leonard - we need you!
Thanks to everyone who runs this Forum - such a relief to know exactly where to go to get an update and reassurance that things really are ok. x

He did not have a heart attack or a stroke. Thank God.
He did collapse as a result of eating something that poisoned his digestive system.
He must have been dehydrated, from vomiting, having diarrhoea and not replenishing with enough fluids, in order to combat the dehydration.
His recovery will take place helped by rehydration fluids containing essential ingredients.
What concerns me is that he was allowed to go on stage. I know he would have fought to go on, and to not disappoint his fans. He loves the fans and treats us like his extended family. However, his health must come before any single fan. I am not in a 'blame' mode here, but I do wonder what professional medical advice he got before the concert. Surely the friendliest approach to him, given his age, demanding schedule and obvious weakness, would have been to say "no." His fans would have been mortified to learn that they were the root cause for his collapsing on a public stage. He went on stage against his own illness. He didn't want to let his fans down. That's the type of wonderful man he is. But until we know the truth about how he went on stage, we can only wring our hands with shock and anguish.
He will have to me more 'self-ish' in future. He must put himself first. There is only one Leonard Cohen and his health has to be paramount in all matters.
We have all had a nasty scare. He will bounce back and most people will probably and gradually forget what has just happened. From time to time we'll remember it and remember the shiver that went up and down our spine when we first heard of it. But please Leonard, from now on, put yourself first, for all our sakes. You're too precious a human being for any of us to lose prematurely.

I fully agree with that. In Budapest, 31. August 2009 we found the miracle with Leonard. There is no question that Leonard Cohen was in the world should prescribe a prescription. Leonard take care we wish you all the best and thanks for the wonderful evening you gave us in Budapest.

I know that for the majority it will be the pipe dream and the frenzy. I think that everyone which bought tickets for the concert in Barcelona should resign from the concert (and not to take money for the ticket!). If everyone arrived only for so that give one's best wishes and express one's great respect - it would be the biggest present. The best present - it to let rest. He can that is the mad idea, but I have such a belief.

Hear,Hear Byron, exactly what I was thinking of posting, more or less.
It just goes to show what a great person Leonard is,I mean, how many of us could cope with performing on stage with food poisoning?! Putting his fans first in such pain, maybe he deserves a smack bottom for being so silly!!!!!
