Hidden in a shawl of sorrow
Entangled in loss and longing
Singing healing threads
to weave a new fabric of existence
In the tower of song
Thanks Leonard
Thanks Leonard
We’ve all come to
This moment
To find out
Who we are.

Re: Thanks Leonard
...hey this seems to be quite powerfull...
....and it feels like beautifull expression of the huge impact and importance of Cohen´s songs, but also of songs as such
/ "fabric of our existence" is partly created in towers of songs, as impressive words and sounds gets into our subconscious and stays there as integral part of our personalities /
And with the use of LC´s and LC-like expressions it sounds like powefull summary.
I like "shawl of sorrow" - have you been thinking of that decadent dead mother´s shawl from "The night comes on?"

I went down to the place
Where I knew she lay waiting
Under the marble and the snow
I said, Mother I'm frightened
The thunder and the lightning
I'll never come through this alone
She said, I'll be with you
My shawl wrapped around you
My hand on your head when you go
And the night came on
It was very calm
I wanted the night to go on and on
But she said, Go back to the World
Of course I´m pathetic, I´ve spent my life getting the most impressive stuff out of the most impressive books. Malcolm Bradbury

iveta,
"But you don't want to lie, not to the young "
"And the night comes on
It's very calm
I want to cross over, I want to go home
But she says, Go back, go back to the World"

Re: Thanks Leonard
I like the update too, they are like a sequence.
Maybe the "tower of song" part summarizes the personal issues expressed in Leonard poems, while "tower of psalm" part attends to religious quest.
Thanks for the lyrics.
In most parts, its the most poignant and fascinating talking to the ghost and afterworld.
But I also enjoy the self - irony expressing the successful fight with depressions, grief and death instict:

I'll go down to Bill's Bar
I can make it that far
