Please read the introductory post on this thread and the other pre-sale thread in this section of the forum to get all of the information you are looking for.

The bottom line is that the password for Fort Launderdale will not be posted until the day that pre-sale starts.

do you know if i but a ticket in presale via ticketmaster and if i can't make the show, if i can cancel my booking and get refund?
I notice that Ticketmaster is flogging ticket insurance on top of their regular extortion fees:
http://www.ticketmaster.com/insurance
"... offers you greater peace of mind with an event ticket purchase by insuring you against unforeseen circumstances. If a traffic accident, medical issue, mechanical breakdown, jury duty, or other covered reason prevents you from attending the event, 100 percent of the ticket price including taxes and shipping charges is returned to you, up to a maximum of coverage amount."

Hi Ann Arbor Bob, and all the MSG-bound Cohenites...hope we can meet up in NYC. Never done that before!

Thanks Bob for all the exhibition info. So Leonard's not the only attraction in town.. but he's the best, of course.

Boogiestreet,
Use a browser that has tabs, such as Firefox, so that you can easily switch from one tab to the other, or use multiple windows. Log in to Ticketmaster and make sure you're on the correct page: the link on the forum should be there beforehand, or you can search on Ticketmaster under "Leonard Cohen" to get to the correct page. Then when the password comes up you can switch directlly to that page. You only need to put the password in when you actually search for tickets; you don't need it to get to the Ticketmaster page for the concert. Take a good look at TIcketmaster ahead of time: try to get tickets to shows that are already selling, like the NYC show, so that you know what to expect. (You'll be able to get pretty far in the process before they ask you for your credit card information.)
Hope you get good seats!
Sue

NYC fan club presale password announced on Facebook

Post by Merganser »

Whoever runs the Leonard Cohen facebook account just announced the NYC presale password on Facebook. Therefore, if you haven't got tickets already, you might want to move now - this may alert more people of the password, and so more of the fan club tickets may be sold, thus limiting supply.

I was just about to comment on this! I got on facebook and was in shock, tons of people saying "Tried to get tickets with password, too expensive" so fans who were wanting those tickets early on while these people just went to look at them missed them! :( The only thing I really had a problem with was that is that there was NO mention of leonardcohenforum.com so fans who MIGHT want to be part of the fan club wouldn't know how and also no mention of the forced will call to explain how these tickets will be picked up!

from the facebook post:
"An Evening with Leonard Cohen tickets Madison Square Garden New York, NY, Directions, seating chart.
Source: http://www.ticketmaster.com
Find and buy An Evening with Leonard Cohen tickets Madison Square Garden New York, NY at Ticketmaster.com
Tickets for the October 23rd show at Madison Square Garden are now available via Fan Club Pre-Sale: the password is CENTRALPARK. "

I have not seen the Facebook posting, but Jarkko asks specifically in the Presale links and password thread to not copy the password.

FWIW, the MSG pre-sale period is more than TWICE as long as that for any of the other venues. Knowing how fanatical the forum members are, I'm sure most of those interested in attending the MSG show already have their tickets.

Huh, same LC facebook account just posted a second link to the password, to the brooklynvegan blog. Oddly enough, that's where I got the password for the Beacon Theater show (a fluke, hadn't been to this site yet, so I was pretty dang lucky)

I have never trusted being on Facebook...though I am on facebook and did join the LC facebook group
but I am concerned that the passwords are getting out..as you never know how far the arms of facebook go to people's 'friends'...

So I have decided to close my account with facebook lc group for now...
and whoever is posting the password to facebook
Please be aware we are not supposed to post it anywhere..
my understanding is its strictly for this forum...
I hope one of the moderators can comment on this soon...
Thanks

Is the Leonard Cohen facebook group an "official" group, ie. run by Leonard and his management company?

I dunno. There are several groups, and one of those public-figure pages that you can become a "fan" of. That's the one that's posting the passwords.

I don't think "Leonard Cohen" on facebook has anything to do with Leonard, his management, or AEG. Have no idea who may have set it up but there are many supposed facebooks for entertainers that are not authorized.

It has NOTHING to do with the leonardcohenforum.com site that was initiated on Facebook for forum members to get to know each other, chat with each other, and share information. This was done by one of us and is completely above board.
