BREAKING NEWS! UNREST ON SOME PACIFIC ISLANDS!

From our special correspondents - Vanuatu, Kiribati, Cook Islands, Kamchatka

Thousands of angry people are gathering on the streets, shouting "We want the announcement!" and "Yar-ko!". Local authorities are completely surprised by the situation. Witnesses saw hundreds of people on kayaks, canoes and rafts heading towards Australia. Our secret source located in a bookstore told us that all of them had bought dictionaries of Finnish language and asked about the location of the nearest Finnish embassy.
Chief of police suggests that this must be some kind of religious movement, and that "Yar-ko" must be the name of the prophet, just like Moses. Alas, no-one knows who (and where) the prophet is and what kind of announcement they are expecting.
Some similar news come right now from Kamchatka. Our diplomatic correspondent told us also that a very serious diplomatic note has been signed by presidents of both Koreas - North and South. The note is very similar to the text shouted in Vanuatu and Kiribati.
Finnish embassies all over the world are now being guarded by armed forces.

"Yar-ko, "Yar-kko" or, more often, "Jar-kko"= Ancient oracle (= a person or agency considered to be a source of wise counsel or prophetic opinion; an infallible authority, usually spiritual in nature. It may also be a revealed prediction or precognition of the future, from deities, that is spoken through another object or life-form (e.g.: augury and auspice, or a forum)). The Jar-kko oracle cult has the greatest number of followers on the Greek island of Hydra, although, comparing mythologies, it originally seems to be centred around the Finish mythological figure "Ukko" (not my fault that that apparently translates as "old man"! ). The exact connections remain unknown. But we know that just as the Jar-kko oracle, Ukko "makes all his appearances in myths solely by natural effects when asked", according to Wikipedia. So, yes, let us challenge the oracle directly: What is the big announcement going to be???

I have loved Leonard since I was 15 and I am now 51 (!) and yet I am as excited about the promised news (Please let it be that he is doing a gig in the forgotten countries - Wales and Scotland!!) as I was when I first heard Songs of Love and Hate.

While we are waiting for the great news this week ....
Leonard gave two fantatstic concerts in Norway this summer at Langesund and Molde. We are already looking forward to another concert in 2010. There are plans to invite him to hold a concert in the beautiful surroundings of Arendal at the very south coast of Norway in the summer 2010, probably as a part of the Canal Strreet festival. A Facebook group is established, and you are all invited to join the group
