Do you know that with stories like that to tell, at the moment, along with John E., you are just becoming some sort of personal hero for me (well, not quite in the same category as the man himself, but still close enough)...? ;-)
and if I say I wept for a week after hearing Les Marquises.......
Sorry ...wandered OT! Will pm you tomorrow!
Yes, please PM!!! Does that mean you are a Brel fan as well?? How I look forward to meeting you in Barcelona....

Argh - I go away for the weekend and the section has changed from the tantalising 'for future use' to the frankly heart-attack-inducing 'big announcement'! Will it be the news that he's rivalling Bob Dylan for a never ending tour? The long-awaited new album? Or my personal dream - hinted at in December's Mojo magazine - that all of the concerts of the tour will be available to download, so I can have a perfect memento of each of those I attended? I'm hoping for the latter, but any of them would do :D
I'm chained to the old masquerade...

Week 30 - 30 more dates or Leonard is going to draw 30 forum names from a hat and invite us to dinner in New York or Madrid where he will entertain us afterwords with a wide array of knock knock jokes and perhaps the banana song.

This is torture! Could he be taking over some of the Michael Jackson concerts at the O2? Having sat through a very wet Weybridge (but marvellous nevertheless) I desparately want to go an indoor venue!!! :D

Mmmmm. There is a weeks gap in Leonard's schedule between Sept 4 and Sept 12. Plus, have just looked on the O2 website and there does not seem to be anything major going during that period! (spreads out credit cards on the table and sighs!)

***That's a break in the tour - they need to have some rest, too!
There are no plans for more concerts in UK, and the summer schedule is now
final and complete [except Tel Aviv that remains unconfirmed] / Jarkko***

Do you know Jarkko, it has been such fun making up what the big announcement will be, there's been such a lot of witty and clever banter. I hope the tension will last for ever. Why don't you just do this every week....

...more...or less...or more again...the rest is plain to see..

How exactly did you get this job Jarkko?

Did Leonard's management recognize the popularity of this as a fansite and decide to reveal things to you? Or was this forum itself set up by the management?

Actually it's not a job but just a hobby (although at times, during the tour, it sometimes feels more like a job  )

I launched the Leonard Cohen Files in 1995 when Leonard still lived on Mt. Baldy. He started to contribute, and we
made friends. More about the history is on the main site at http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/canfin.html
This Forum was opened in 2002, but we had had a similar one for three years.

The information at The Files and here on the Forum is based on direct contact with Leonard himself and his
management.

I jus followed the link and read this
"In 1999 Cohen invited me and my family to visit him at his home in Los Angeles, and we spent an enjoyable weekend as his guests, meeting both his children, Lorca and Adam. Cohen turned out to be a very caring and sympathetic person who lacked many of the negative qualities often found in stars of his magnitude."
You incredibly lucky lucky man! I had no idea you actually spoke to Leonard himself! Thats amazing, Im very very jealous.

The Files (and partly this Forum) is based on a continuous and fruitful cooperation with Leonard, that's why we are the first to know, and that's why he decided to announce the forthcoming tour first on these websites in the beginning of last year. A lot of the material shown on the websites is coming directly from him, and his management. Marie has similar direct channel to Leonard for her wonderful Speaking Cohen website.
- Leonard is very generous to his fans, and so is his management. Both Marie and I have enjoyed to work with the people around him, like Robert Kory and Ed Sanders.

My vote is for a live tv broadcast or did someone already bag that ? Like Aloha from Hawaii, but with different songs and less ostentatious clothes.
