Hi
After Tuesday's concert at the Echo Arena, Christakis Greek restaurant have said that we are welcome to meet there and have a drink,a natter or a meal.
It's 15 minute walk from The Arena and is a really nice place.
Maps for those interested in attending will be available at The Dispensary before the concert.

Christakis Greek Taverna | 7 York Street, Liverpool L1 5BN | Tel: 0151 708 7377

See you tomorrow

Dear Daveeliver,
Thankyou for all the planning re bars and restaurants:right now though, I'm making my play-piece for the train journey down south to Englandshire.
I hope to see the usual suspects (and unusual ones too :D ) in the designated bar, whose name I can't remember.

Yours, getting increasingly excited,

Andrew.

Can anyone recommend a good place to park near the arena?

The arena has its own multi storey car park quite close, charging £4 on Event nights. I believe if you park on the lower floors it is quicker to get out. I think another car park was mentioned a couple of pages back, a short walk away.

Thanks, Margaret. :)

Of course, I could have looked it up on the site, couldn't I? But after the seething confusion of Weybridge on Saturday, I've lost faith in the ability of concert organisers to make anything clear.

:D I envy you all your meet-up tomorrow night.I shall be there, myself, but I am travelling on acoach from Barrow-in Furness and will not arrive until sevenish and leave straight after the concert, so no chance of a get together after  Happy enough seeing The Maestro tho! Enjoy!

I expect Leonard and the crew will be in Liverpool by now

He might well be out and about seeing the city himself ;-)
Well, he'll have run back to his hotel room screaming in anguish by now then....!

Looking forward to this evening's performance and praying for a rendition of Avalanche...

We were at the Arena last night and the weather was awful both before and after the concert, not many places to shelter
walking from the town centre to the Arena, we got soaked before and after the show, for those on foot make sure you are prepared.

I phoned the car park admin. staff and was told that in order to get one of the lower floor parking bays, it is advisable to arrive/park at least 1 and a half hours before the concert. It can take just as long to leave the car park after a concert if you are parked on the higher floors. So arriving early means getting away much quicker. If the concert finished at 10:30 you could be stuck in the car park until midnight before being able to get away, if you arrived later than his recommended suggestion.

I had a pleasant surprise back at the car park at the end of the concert...no, not what you're thinking...
Having parked up at about 3pm so that I could meet up with the Paula clan before going to the Dispensary I expected to pay £7 for the parking due to the number of hours being parked.... yet the machine only wanted £4 for event parking.... and being on level 3 it only took 10 minutes to get out (although I didn't rush from the arena to the car park)

Sorry I couldn't meet up after the show... I had to be at work the next morning and that was a shock to the system !

It was great to meet up again with Paula and Megan and Margaret and Andrew and Ken and to also meet, for the first time, Dave and Luke and Barry and Stan and Vixen and at the concert to see the Davido clan again and I ended up sitting next to mydoglorca and last ..but not least...to eventually meet Mabeanie..who made it all possible for me to be sitting where I was...isn't she brilliant!!!

and as for Liverpool..that was my first proper visit to the city and I was truly impressed. I will be back :)

Anyway..back to reality and trying to impress upon my work colleagues how wonderful it all was but somehow their lights are dim.
