Furthermore, as those who bought direct from the arena got theirs nearly a month ago, Ticketmaster's explanation sounds a bit odd to say the least.

As of today (4th) the website is still showing tickets not yet dispatched so the earliest they're going to arrive is next Tuesday.

Just rcvd my tickets this morning for the Pet Shop Boys who are on the day before Leonard, these were purchased direct from the Arena
months ago, according to the Arena they were posted on Monday 29/6, which does not bode well for LC tckts.

The promoter is Chas Cole, CMP Entertainments, http://www.cmpentertainment.com/

perhaps we should all contact them with our queries and concerns.

The Dispensary at the top of Renshaw Street Liverpool will be a good place to meet in on Tuesday 14th.It's a decent pub and frequented regularly by Ken and myself.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?source=ig ... 2207376131

It is a 10 minute walk from Lime Street railway station, surrounded by varied good quality restaurants and near to other pubs of interest.
It is a 20/30 minute walk from the arena and there is plentiful parking available nearby.A taxi to the arena is only about £5
The licensee is happy for us to meet there and a few trays of sandwiches etc will be provided for those not visiting one of the local restaurants.
I imagine people will be arriving from 5 ish onwards but we should leave about 7.
Details of an afterconcert venue will be posted over the weekend and later maps, details of restaurants and other ideas.
Looking forward to seeing you all, maybe also some people will be in town on Monday night,
Hope my tickets eventually arrive
Dave
Hi Dave, Tom Lang runs a great bar in the Parr Street Studio's which is open late and very chilled out, known as
3345 Parr Street, also one of the recording studio's has now been converted into a bar which also features live music, just around the corner from the Dispensary,no real ales here but open late, could be a late night option.

There are now very good tickets available from the Arena itself. I just checked out of curiosity and there are top price tickets in row L, Section 1, just side of the stage near the front.

Stan whereabouts in London. I am going to Liverpool if it is reasonably close to me I could pick the tickets up from London and bring them up.

I have had my tickets for Liverpool for a couple of weeks brought direct from the Arena I am not sure what Ticketmaster are playing at.

Margaret said there are still good tickets left direct from the Arena for anyone who is still undecided

Did you ask him WHY the tickets hadn't been dispatched, when the arena has already sent out their tickets?

I did ask him.

He said he could only see what the computer was showing him and that they haven't received them from the promoters but could assure me that we would gain entry to the concert.

Just to confirm what Paul Zagreb said. I spoke to ticketmaster agent. He said its likely tickets will be going out on Monday. Again he said they hadn't got them from the promoter and the promoter had left it til late to send them, possibly because they don't want people to be touting tickets outside the venue. (eh hem...anyone heard of ebay! and of course that people who booked from the Arena direct have theirs already) anyway, so if they haven't arrived this week he says to ring them closer to the event to have duplicate tickets put in the box office. (ah but would they really be duplicate if the original never existed in the first place.... )

I think this is pretty poor service, considering that there was a £9 per ticket "service" charge + £2.25 for delivery.

I find it hard to understand any logic in the idea that sending tickets out late stops trading outside the venue ... after all, it is on the evening of the concert that this happens isn't it .. Perhaps to try to stop other trading but it is a pretty poor excuse anyway. As it stands, there may be a lot of us searching for our duplicate (ha ha) tickets at the box office!

The following rcvd today after contacting Chas Cole the promoter of the Summer Pops

Quote
I am sorry to hear you have not yet received your Leonard Cohen tickets.

The majority of Ticketmasters allocation for this event were despatched to them some time ago, on the instruction of the shows Promoter, AEG, and so the majority of their customers should have received their tickets.

Any tickets that were added to Ticketmasters allocation and sold very recently may have been despatched a little later. I can confirm that we have now sent Ticketmaster their full allocation of tickets, and they should be in a position to despatch the tickets to their customers.

If you do not receive your tickets within the next day or two I would advise getting in touch with Ticketmaster again to ask about the whereabouts of your order, as they are in receipt of any tickets they have sold.

Kind regards

John J - thanks for that, it certainly gives the lie to TM's claim not to have received their tickets yet. You've given the Chas Cole email address which I guess is a bit unfair on the person in question but I suggest that all of us affected email the person alerting them to TM's shoddy practice.

Regards,

Melvyn.

ps in future,if I have a choice, I will never purchase via TM again.
