problem of Icarius

Post by George.Wright »

gliding close to the sun
my brow is sweaty, my work is near done
and i can feel the hot wax on my back
as i begin to take a panic attack
do i stay here and just hover?
and rest on my laurels?
or do i push on?
knowing full well my fate
and the cynics will fill with hate
and blame me for lack of progress
their tongues with hatred will digress
or do i continue to climb closer to the heat
and allow my feathers to fall in a heap
becoming newton's apple in a golden leap
and fufill my own destiny?

Dear George

Icarius, dickery dock
I fell in the garden on my sundial clock
Newton it's winter, tell the apples to stop
Icarius, dickery dock

Tongues won't wag they'll just fry
Bye bye

Ben

George

My reply had the same story as your poem
But just a more simple analogy.

Cheers

George

The Problem with Icarus

To see the Sun King Icarus
I crossed the martyred Jesus
Many myths of the Holy circus
Over time and again lost focus

I crawled from the Holocaust
Plagued by death's impending lost
From the ashes I saw Pegasus
Now how time flies, Hero Icarus

Big Daddy's calling, oh Great Zeus
Credit cards overspent to bed Venus
Now space travel part of our education
To bear witness to Icarus reincarnation

Icarus, dickery dock
I fell in the garden, into my sundial clock
Newton it's winter , tell the apples to stop
Icarus, dickery dock
Life rewards action, just as well done is better than well said. Yours the Galactic Pixie
