Have fun with your take on this one....

Post by ritamarie »

Here's a fun writing activity.
Be creative, whimsical, prosaic, factual, whatever with this one.
Write a poem in the first person, including some or all of the following:
-name
-four words to describe yourself
-status
-three things you love
-three things you possess
-three things you want to see
-resident of....

Here's my take on it:

A trickling stream of consciousness
Loving, creative, faithful and fair in direction
Twisting, turning, focused in perception
I’m a lover, a friend and a mother
A sister in humanity
Lover of spirit found in clear sight
Lover of authenticity, uplifting in its might
Lover of nature, intrinsic beauty
I’m rich in love
I’m swimming in gratitude
I’m satiated in wonderment.
I’m a trickle in the stream of consciousness.

Cheers,

Ritamarie.

so you want a poem declaring
status
-three things you love
-three things you possess
-three things you want to see
-resident of...
I might make a better effort another time but please accept this quickie.

I am a benign troll
I love myself, women,
and "rock and roll"
I posses a sense of humour, a giant puma, and a wild rumour
I want to see an effort by Jack to write all properly,
an effort by Lizzie not to treat others like her property,
I want to see Cate or Tinders bare of all decorum

I am called ;two left feet, dances with kohkoms
one of the litter
gathering and giving the glitter
you you you
curiosity
a dream
and I can be a floating boat
Joyful learning, kindness burning and trim-tabs turning
almost comfortable at home in the universe

eeek, I cutted and pasted wrongo for mine above. I just read Jack's and wondered why he was including his name, followed by descriptions.

ok, let me try again

my name is Brian, I am a very benign Lion
four words to describe myself are quiet, kind, modest and humble
my present status is in the middle of lunch, apple crumble
three things I love are music, film, and sex
three things I possess are a bald head, a 5ft 6 body, and a tyrannosaurus rex
three things I want to see are the front of Angelina Jolie, the middle of nowhere, and the back of Jack
I am resident of course but thinking of going out later to do some shopping

Tinds, what bastard person is making you work on Saturday? Do you want me to send the "boys" round to sort him out?

I am going through a real Jack L phase at the moment and Tori, my youngest, likes him as well. I think I should take her for a concert and overnight stay in Ireland, during the school holidays.

Sung by him, these words absolutely come alive and soar.

When the moon is high
And I am half
Asleep
I dream on
I pretend
You are close
To me
I feel music sight
When you're about
To speak
I hear a sound
And I fly
I fly down
Your street
Day, after day
Week after week

These little things
Make this life
So beautiful, so glorious, so divine
Like a summer breeze
On a warm July night
Makes me want to kiss
The stars
As they shine
In your eyes

Where ever I go
There's nothing I won't do
To see your face
Come alive
Like I am close
To you

I memorise, every stay
Miles after miles

These little things
Make this life
So beautiful, so glorious, so divine
Like a summer breeze
On a warm July night
Makes me want to kiss
The stars
As they shine
In your eyes

Jack Lukeman

ok Tinds, been on his website and Jack L at County Monaghan on August 14th looks a poss. My first Google tells me it's only 62.65 km from Dublin, popcorn and ice creams are on me (so I am looking for someone to lick them off, I guess).

Jaysus! That's the best offer I had in years :D

Thanks for offering to send the boys 'round... but i have to work saturdays because 'tis the busy day for people getting eye tests and glasses and repairs and sunglasses, and the recession doesn't seem to have hit the us yet!

Like an arrow
in a bow
Pulled back
so very far
I dance with
grandmothers
from a very
distant star
The string is
between toes
of the foot
on my right
It aches
but i try
to be straight
with my might
I came here
for this
to be one
of the litter
to gather
and to give
to others
the glitter

I watch you
I dream you
I float you

with
joyful learning
kindness burning
trim-tabs turning
I won't stop
I can't stop
until you are
comfortable
in my home

for this

what to others
is just glitter
truly truly decadent

Hi iveta

I made a change to the above. I decided that I have no way of knowing what something is to others.
Maybe I am writing about a litter of cute little puppies, mind you, gutter does ring a bell but there are things one forgets.
