To William Blake
The golden spider wove it's fleece
over the entrance to the cave and the lair
and it's weave was like nightmares in a golden ladies hair
and the eyes in the darkness were focused and stared
and the glow it was golden and yellow and very fair
and the traps they were tripped with the skeletons lying there
and into an orb that shone like the sun on the sea
on a pillar of hate, that was black as could be
duality it exists, side by side you see
and both are patterened together in total symmetry
like the tiger that blake saw in the forrest of the night
when he was inspired and had the gift of the second sight
visionarys are weak and don't often do what's right
whiskers are awful strange and so feline touch tight
and his paintings were the most magical and mystical in the land
that ever carressed the time imprint in the medium of sand
and the magic of the visionary
explore the caves on the infinate sea
and plunge the depths of idolatry
in their insane efforts to be finally free

Hello George. I admire Blake for the way he stood apart from what was classed as normal 'society.' Some have said he was too honest for it. A great epitaph. There are so few today who feel free enough to be able to speak their mind without ridicule or abuse falling down on them. Even the Nativity is rebuked in some quarters. What a sad and sorry lot some people impose on others' beliefs. Keep posting George. I think that Pete's suggestion is worthy of your efforts and our regard for them. Byron.

Byron, thank you for your kind words, i appreciate your comments. A visionary could also be accused of being a Heretic, for being so against the accepted religion and practices, of their time. If they were lucky, they would be tolerated. If not, they would be hounded and killed. In more primitive societies they were known as Shamen.

Hello George. I once posted a note about ancient Greece and its treatment of poets. At certain times in the history of what we now call Greece, poets were murdered, or banished, because they had the objectivity to see the State for what it was. They spoke the Truth and as we all know, in certain countries today, it is dangerous to speak the truth about the State. The more things change, the more they stay the same. George, keep on with your views and visions and continue to bring some colour into this forum.
Byron.
