Leonard for Ireland?

the cheapest tickets for dublin is 90 euro, so the chances are the dearest will be 125 euro, fairly expensive.
Will probably go , but it is a lot of money for a night out.

Belfast is £75, £85 and £90, if they are priced in the same way the Odyssey is normally priced, £75 will be disabled seats £85 corners near the back and £90 for the rest of the arena.

I am probably going to get a roasting for saying this but i think the whole world tour twice times over is turning into something I don't want to be part off......greed.
My one concern is who is driving it.
I am a genuine fan for years but the whole things fills me with worry and i hope it does not end in tears.

Having gone to great expense to seeLeonard in New York and Berlin, I for one am delighted that he is returning to Ireland and I hope that he continues to perform here every year for as long as he is able. It is an honour to be able to see him perform live. As he himself said "I didnt create the marketplace".

Yes going to many concerts has meant financial hardship & doing without certain other things but it has been well worth it. If Leonard is able to have a financially secure retirement.... well I'm quite comfortable with that.

I am glad i got two tickets for the 19th of July, but i am disappointed that fans again are being asked to pay huge ticket prices for another farewell concert and as i have just seen his interview it does seem that he may tour in the future again.

I paid 267 for two tickets, however i was going to buy 4, but my wife and her sister said that they couldn't justify spending that amount of money on seeing him again, so i am going with my brother in law who is a big fan also.
At the end of the day, its only a concert, and it is a lot of money for any with a normal paid job in this country and especially coming up to the summer when the price of those tickets could pay for a holiday.

It does annoy me when people mention that at least the money is going to Leonard financial upkeep and retirement fund......

i did think about going to New York to see him one last time, but in the end couldn't justify the cost to me and my family, but could you imagine if i did and then found out that he is coming back to ireland, i would be pissed off...

I bought the cd and dvd and think they are brilliant and were very good value for money, so i can't understand why his concert tickets are so much more expensive compared to other artists in his range.

Yep, concerts are expensive and in my opinion overly so but I think its up to each person to justify the price of a ticket for themselves with regard to their own circumstances. Comparing the Leonard Cohen world tour (however long it goes on, if he comes back again, or if there is another one) is on a par with the prices others are charging. (yes I know Bob Dylan was cheaper) the Eagles in July in the RDS are €86, €106 €131 but even more expensive is Ry Cooder in the Olympia in June, €96, €116 and €131. Ouch!!

True on all points, however if Leonard Cohen played in the Olympia, i would imagine they would cost more than Ry Cooder,(being honest i never heard of R Cooder!) also Olympia is a much smaller venue and therefore would be better than the O2.
When Neil Young played vicar street a few years ago it was 150 euro a ticket. You could justify that price for such an intimate gig, whereas O2 and Kilmainham are not intimate and are on a larger scale.

Yes you have a point there. In a smaller venue it seems one ends up paying to make up the difference in profit for the however many others who couldn't fit into the building!

Ry Cooder was the guy who highlighted or brought the Cuban musicians the Buena Vista Social Club to the attention of the masses. But yeah, other than that I don't know much about him.

However on a cheaper note one of our home grown, Christy Moore is playing the marquee in Cork, €45 top price. (yep Marquee, thats a fancy word for a big tent. Thats what we put up with (ouch bad pun) down here...! )

True, i went to two concerts in the marque in Cork, one was Bob Dylan, and last year was Neil Young. Dylan was 50 euro(approx) and Young was 80 euro. It is a brilliant but hot venue. Dylan's concert there was brilliant, best venue that i saw him at, I have seen Neill Young in the old point and the marque and he somewhat annoys me with his loooooong guitar playing but he does give value for money. I think Leonard would possible be a great addition to the venue, but maybe a tent wouldn't suit his style. was tempted to go and see Tracy Chapman there this year, but my concert budget for this year has gone to Leonard...

Yeah its not a bad venue. I saw the Who there and really enjoyed it, they were excellent, but went to Paul Weller last year and it was raining outside and there were puddles in the tent!!

I think Leonard would possible be a great addition to the venue, but maybe a tent wouldn't suit his style.

Indeed but we could change the title from 'Live at the Marquee' to Live at the Tabernacle' just for one night.

They're good seats in the flat front seating section Row F seats 68 and 67.
I bought them for 262 euro but have just lost my job I'd be willing to sell for
