Hi Ottawa folks,

I am writing with a request from Edmonton. Leonard played here back on April 25 and you are in for a real treat with his upcoming show in Ottawa A dear friend was at the Leonard show with me, and she is a HUGE fan. She did not purchase a 2009 Concert Tour Program at the Edmonton show and has been regretting it ever since. We were scheming to think of ways to get her a Program.

Just a couple days ago, my friend was in quite a serious car accident. She will be ok, but there will be quite a long recovery time. As soon as I'd heard, I thought immediately of trying to get this concert tour program for her, and the only way I can think of is to ask a kind Canadian Leonard fan going to one of the upcoming shows to send one to me and I will give it to her. Of course, I would pay for the program and mailing costs in advance. I know it would mean a lot to her and help to cheer her up as she recovers.

Beginning to despair of an Ottawa early entry at the NAC though. Last list posted on that thread went up to the 24th of May - and as you say we are a week away.

I propose D'Arcy's for before and after the show. If anyone learns of new developments on gatherings at the NAC, please post on this forum. We can always change our plans.

Also, remember our Leonard Cohen mini-event singalong at the Georgetown Pub (Bank St. at Belmont) on Sunday, May 24. We have the back room booked from 6 PM onward. I'm planning to arrive at about 8.

If you're planning to come to the Georgetown, please let me know. They want to know whether they'll need extra staff. (I suspect the answer is yes...)

How many are planning to go to D'arcy McGee's?
I am planning on the early entrance to the NAC at 6:30 pm
looking forward to it. I have seats in Row CC seats 22-24

Anyone close to there?

Coming from Perth Ont. My sweetie is coming with me and he doesn't even know he's going to see Leonard Cohen!! A surprise and early wedding present!

Hi all - I have made a reservation for 20-25 people at Darcy's McGee's after the concert - around 11:15. Not sure that we really needed a reservation, but it never hurts (Ottawa isn't exactly Paris or New York - pubs typically are not full after 11 on a Monday night). I told them that we would probably want to reserve again for Tuesday night, but that we would finalise that Monday night while there.

Unfortunately I cannot make it to Darcy's before the concert, but am definitely looking forward to meeting everyone afterwards. The reservation is under my name, Paula Thompson, but I now realise that is a little silly as most of you won't remember my name. I will call tomorrow and change the reservation name to 'Leonard Cohen fans."

Ali - I am row FF, centre, so not far from you at all. What a lovely wedding present for your husband-to-be!

I too plan to be at the NAC by 6:30.

PS: John Fogerty at Scotiabank Place tonight was excellent... 2 hours of all hits, all the time in a high energy performance! At almost 64, John Fogerty is 10 years junior to Leonard Cohen.
