A Poem about the Master

Post by resolemcrey »

I have a poem about Mr. Cohen on this nice webzine which I thought might be of some interest:

Dear Resolemcrey ~

I like your simple poem about Leonard very much 8) . It captures the essence of some days he most certainly has had. Why don't you bring it here? I like the way the darkened grey adds to it, however, so the visit there remains worthwhile.

Welcome to the Forum :D

Thank you, Elizabeth. I just stumbled on this site, mostly for the great song index, with lyrics. I'm still feeling my way around in the dark.

Well stumble around some more, Corey......this site has anything and everything you'd ever want or need to know about Leonard. However, that said, also check out Marie Mazur's site. Her link is on Jarkko's main page. Come back here and hang out with us, too.

Hi again, Corey ~

What a lovely website for your bookstore :D ! Has it been in your family since 1875? Or did you buy into it? It looks like a store that you would be a whole lot of fun to visit 8) .

Hello.
My beloved bookstore is one of the oldest in the country and has a solid national reputation. It was in the Burke's family for 3 generations and they sold it in the 70s. My wife and I, after working at the store for a decade, were lucky enough to buy it in 2000, the third owners since the family. It's a dream palace. A must place if you ever visit Memphis. The kind of bookstore a Leonard Cohen fan would love, or so I like to believe.

Hi Corey~
I was impressed by the deceptive simplicity of your poem. Especially loved the line about the colour of the sea - "a blue never used before", excellent! :D

I'll definitely do that one day, Corey ~

It's close enough to 'on my way' to Michigan, where my family lives.
