Just a tiny bit of reenforcement on the harp idea is that not only is the harp close to her heart emotionally, but when she plays it, it's also held close to her heart. [Not much to offer beyond that  .]

And who was the clever one who figured out the "close to their [now we know it's "her"] heart" and harp connection? That was pure genius.

So, does that put anyone closer to figuring out who Fred's human cohort is (or cohorts are)?
Friscogirl was the first one to get the harp connection - first post after the picture - YEAH Marsha! Brightnow recalled how the harp was in one of the other pictures. Findingtime (fantastic bit of research 8) ) actually put 'close to the heart' and 'harp' together, but dismissed it because of Duluth being too far away :( . But then brightnow gave us the link (great job!)to a harp maker in Red Wing and put the whole harp thing back on track again :D .

It just doesn't seem that Fred's friend would do anything to give themselves away, especially after making the faux pas :o in the first picture when they are snapping the shot while holding Fred, thus exposing their hand with a bracelet/watch. Don't think it would help to be on the lookout for this piece of jewelry. They will probably now make sure it is removed or passed on to wear by someone else as a red herring  . The majority of the photos of Fred on stage are taken on the vocalists' side. Then, the last picture of the 'traveling party' member's boots looks as if the person wearing the boots is also the one taking the picture. Have I confused you all enough   ? I know I'm thoroughly confused :? , but having a great time :D !

Mary

This has been, truly, a team effort. Can't wait for Fred and his accomplice to tell us if we're right! 8)

And to throw yet another bit of info in there... I vaguely recall seeing one of Joey's (fauxmantic's) pictures on flickr that was a shot of several pairs of feet - and if memory serves, there was a pair of similar boots. But, I haven't taken the time to go back to take another look. Maybe this can help!

MaryB -- Thanks for the kind words but I cannot claim credit for the connection between "close to the heart" and the playing position of the harp. That was an amazing insight and I think it was friscogrl. I really think the answer is Hattie and the harp maker in Red Wing, but the Leanne/Bob connection and the reform school/Bob Dylan references are fascinating. Fred and his human companion(s) are quite the puzzle masters.

Oh yes, Fred and co. are on their way here! They have been driving all day and are probably arriving from Detroit right about now. I wonder if they will start setting up tonight or if they are going to wait until tomorrow morning.

I'm sure Fred is pretty excited about being able to see his "Mom" again tomorrow night! Although I have a feeling that he will be sitting behind the curtains and peeking out at Row D seats 2 and 4 (2 & 4?). His little heart will be thumpin' though!

I did get to chat awhile with Roscoe Beck in Detroit last night before the concert, and lo and behold, Roscoe was wearing a monkey t-shirt! Hmmmm... I gave him my little gift to Fred and am sure he passed it on. He did mention that one day he read the entire "monkey and a plywood violin" thread from beginning to end and loved it! So....as much as he likes little Fred, I don't "think" he's his person, unless he is very adept at deception 8) . However, we may take special interest in Michelle..the hat lady! Somehow though I have a feeling this is a multi-individual involvment ;-) 8) :D

Joey's boots looked suspiciously familiar...... And, outside of either Michelle or Joey, I feel it is definitely a band member or a female on stage who is involved.....or EVERYONE!

Keep your eyes open Mary!

After the awesome night in Detroit, I wish I could be with you also in Columbia!

You know...perhaps it takes a few hours to digest things. Why....WHY....would Roscoe Beck be wearing a monkey t-shirt pre-concert in Detroit??? Who wears monkey t-shirts as a norm? How many do YOU have in your closet? He said he had read ALL the thread. That meant he knew that Aunt Di would show up. Aunt Di would also have a gift for Fred. And...Aunt Di was looking to give Fred's gift to a band member. Plot thickens..

Roscoe...you are too much! But I know you aren't alone.

Mother Mary..check out EVERYTHING in Columbia...be there early and check out Roscoe ;-) especially.

Have fun!

Hey Fred, come over and crash at my house after the show today! It's only 20 minutes away from the venue and you will have access to my 20Mbps fiber connection that always works (I'll give you my WiFi key, of course).
Or you can just get online and post some photos, that will work too :D

Looking at the tour schedule, I don't think we're going to hear from Fred for a few more days.
They have been packing up, rolling out and setting up almost every day. The next time this hard-working crew has a morning off will be May 17th in NYC. Hopefully we'll hear from Fred then.
