I posted this in another thread a couple of weeks ago, but it seems worth reposting.
I come from Weybridge, and unless things have changed since I moved away, pretty much the only place to meet near Brooklands (on the other side of the railway line but only two minutes from the station) is the Hand and Spear pub.
It used to be full of underage drinkers (next door to a sixth form college), but it looks like they've tarted it up as a gastro pub/wine bar now.

Weybridge factoid number 1: John Lennon lived in Weybridge in the mid to late 1960s. He and McCartney penned plenty of songs here including most of the tracks of the Beatles for Sale and Help! albums in the mansion on St George's Hill.

Hi Jim
I think this subject is ongoing over on the thread 'Liverpool & Weybridge...' started by John Etherington.
John was living there with Cynthia and Julian, probably Paul did visit him and they quite probably worked through a lot of stuff there, though I believe Paul was resident at his home in St John's Wood where he still has the same house which he bought quite early on. John and Paul used to write independenly a lot of the time, and then just get together to sound each other out about songs where they thought they needed 'something extra'. I love the story about how John wrote 'I am the walrus' melody after hearing a police siren in Weybridge. When you listen to the repeated 2 notes of the first couple of lines it seems quite evident. Brilliant.
