How about if I phone the Merc-Benz number tomorrow and ask them for suggestions for a suitable meet up point? There are two cafes there, I do know that. Then I'll post a suggestion.

Would there be any chance of an early entrance to Mercedes World for members? If we all met up in their cafe then they would get plenty of sales of food and drink from us as well.

Foxwood - I am not sure. The early entrance in US/Can is courtesy of Leonard's tour management, and one of the goals is to make it easier for members to pick up their will call tickets. In Europe the tickets will be available to most members by snail mail.

Well, I rang Mercedes Benz re possible meet up points - the number (from the UK) is 0870 400 4000 - and they were not much help, suggesting things like 'in front of the main building, which will be closed except for TM's hospitality package ticket holders, who will be the only ones allowed into the cafe inside' - (how the other half live!), or the entrance to the main visitors car park, which would be a boring place to meet up.
The woman I spoke to suggested I ring back in June as the catering outlets are currently out for tender, so they don't yet know what facilties will be on offer. She did say that there will probably be picnic areas with benches...
Incidentally, for those of you planning to drive (which had included me), while parking for the Merc Benz visitors is normally free, they have let TM loose on it, so god knows how much will be charged for parking...
So...guess it's Tesco's, wherever that is, or wait till nearer the date to get info from Merc Benz as to a possible meet up at one of the catering outlets.

Regarding meet ups: Does anyone know if there is a pub nearby the train station that would be suitable? Maybe there are car parks nearby the station too? The information on TM site states there is a shuttle bus from the train station:

There are a good few B&B's and there's always The Ship hotel in Weybridge http://www.shiphotel.co.uk/site/ (about 3 miles from the venue) (Update - apparently it's fully booked)

Much cheaper options would be Byfleet, Walton ( - on - Thames) and Cobham

Weybridge train station is less than a mile walk from the venue



Weybridge Town is a bit further, nearer to 3 miles, but there are plenty of places to meet up there

Me and my Mum (EvieB) got tickets for the two of us and my brother and his fiancee (they are first timers!) in Section A5, Row R, Seats 94-97...

We went to see him at the Albert Hall last year and had seats further back (but still enjoyed it very much!) - We also bumped into him the next day!

Quoting the Barclaycard adverts....

Bumping into him the next day - Priceless!

MBW ran a concert last year - Elton John - Apparently parking and surrounding traffic problems were a complete nightmare

The nearby TESCO is completely massive & has a huge car park, but at 6pm on a Saturday night it will be full.

Tesco café is horrible & i can't imagine you would be able to reserve tables?? Also not sure what time they serve until?

M&S next door has a café which would be much much better, but may also close too early - will have a look at it with new eyes next time I'm there.

Basically the venue is in the middle of an old airfield which has been partially filled with a Museum, and partially with a retail park - TESCO, M&S, Curry's, ARGOS & Mothercare. Not designed for anything except shopping.

There are two pubs right beside Weybridge station. One is definitely a dreadful student dive, the other one may have been refurbished. Between now & July the 11th i will go and have a look & see what they say about us meeting there. Not sure when it will be as i'm studying at the moment for exams, but I will definitely visit in plenty of time for the concert

Parking anywhere near the venue / in the venue will be horrible. The roads around the venue get jammed in rush hour traffic normally. Driving there is really a bad idea. I will be cycling / walking from Weybridge town, and i strongly suggest that people sort out public transport to the venue. There is very little very expensive parking in Weybridge train station, and the rest of the area is residents only parking, being a commuter belt. If ticketmaster are taking over the parking, avoid it if you possibly can. they're already making 10% per ticket. there will be some spaces in M&S/Tesco car park, especially later in the evening

Which seems to suggest you can park there I would be surprised if you couldn't as it sounds like an industrial estate and I cannot imagine how anyone could charge for on-site parking at an industrial estate even the Fagins of Ticketmaster.
