Again, I thank jarkoo for making the presales for Leonard Cohen's concerts available; without this, I might not have been able to find two reasonably priced tickets. I'm nevertheless uneasy about buying tickets via presales, since presales reduces the number of tickets for folks who are unaware of the practice.

I find myself less inclined to criticize Leonard Cohen and his relationship with Ticketmaster while knowing that I myself have engaged with something that seems a bit unfair, presales. To quote another singer, "I'm guilty, baby I'm guilty / And I'll be guilty all the rest of my life / How come I never do what I'm supposed to do?"

Turns out all the 'conspiracy theories' were right on the point.

Unsold VIP and "Platinum Seats" are now being released to the general pool -- just 5 minutes ago tickets available for Oakland shows at TicketMaster's general sale were as follows:
April 13 orch O center
April 14 orch F center
April 15 orch TT center

TicketsNow still puts ad on the Craigslist, disguising themselves as Funneasytravel.
The tickets there start from $1563 (a pair of Apr 14, orch row E) /later when I switch to the comp with a graphic app I'll attach screenshots/:

I understand LC doesn't profit from the money earned manipulating the ticket prices.
If this is the case, regulators should really look into TicketMaster's practices.

Same goes for the Hamilton and London shows - just this morning they had 9th row centre and 5th row centre available, respectively.

edited to add: Just checked Hamilton again and pulled up 2 tickets in the FIRST ROW. $250 a pop, mind you, but pretty amazing nonetheless. Hope someone on here gets 'em.

Unfortunately I don't have time to do a research on the subject, IMHO however LC fans should e-mail relevant regulators, as Bruce Springsteen fans did.
Maybe Justice Department would be the best body to complain to:

Bruce Springsteen fans were heard, they were compensated for overpriced tickets they bought, and TC paid 'voluntary' fine.
IMHO the problem is not limited to single events, I think what TicketMaster does is practicing worldwide ticket speculation.
LC fans experienced it in Europe as well, as it was reported in 2008 Summer Tour threads.

Wow! I am an idoit.

This ended up costing me more now. LOL. About three mintues ago I decided to check Detroit being curious again.

Ended up buying myself Row 1 Orc Pit for $283.00 total from TM.com!!

This on top of the $129 ticket I already have!!

So now I need someone to go with me to take the extra ticket or I try to sell it.
