Top five LC albums...

Doesn't really fit in here, but yesterday my aunt called me after hearing Cohen on the radio. She said, now she would understand, why I even made the trip the USA and asked me, if I could lend her some CDs. Well, although it's strange to give all your CDs away for an indefinite time ( ), I brought her the bunch.
Hmm... makes me feel heroic in a way

What a beautiful thing to do! I'm sure she will return them to you eventually but it's always hard to part with something you treasure, if even for a short while. That's what makes your gesture so lovely though. And how amazing that by simply hearing Leonard on the radio it was enough to get her hooked and for her to realize how you felt! A wonderful story

4) New Skin for the Old Ceremony (not a popular choice apparently, but I love all of it)
5) Ten New Songs

The Essential 2CD is a great introduction, but I just keep thinking about all the songs that didn't make the cut (although it must have been a difficult job!).

Hi Everybody! I just wanted to let you know, I finally ordered my first LC cds!!!

I don't know how I chose...I didn't even barely look to see what songs were on the CDs, so it was actually a surprise when I got them and played them for the first time. Well, let me tell you I was so blown away! I couldn't believe that I actually chose his first album. I think that was an incredible way to start! Amazing! All those songs on the first album. It took a long time for me to finally getting around to ordering, but mostly because I wanted something on vinyl. So I was hoping to get something from a used record store! ha ha. dumb idea. I found out, Songs of LC was released on vinyl recently! or something like that. I'm keeping a look out for that!

Now I see why people on this forum compare him to Dylan. I couldn't understand it before. I love Dylan and everything, but still, Cohen to me is far beyond comparisons. I also like when he sings "out of control".

It was kind of neat, because I chose based on what I've gathered from all of you on this forum, the pictures, the references...thanks for the guidance!
