Hi Vic,

That Forest Hills Concert was july 25th 1970. The setlist isn't known to archivists.

Could you post here what you wrote in your little book please?

Thanks,

Robin

jarkko wrote:12.01 am = one minute past midnight, the night between Thursday and Friday. In Europe it will be early Friday morning - 5 in UK, 6 in Central Europe and 7 back home in Finland.
Oh my goodness, this is not for me to correct Jarkko BUT one minute after midnight is actually 12:01 AM or 0001. 12.01pm will be heading into the afternoon; however, I think everyone understood even with the explanation, so, sorry Jarkko! Otherwise everything he wrote is correct :D

**Thanks Diana - and I edited the original message... In Europe we don't use those am's and pm's - it is much easier to use the 24 hrs scale! / Jarkko***

Sorry, have I missed something, is the big announcement nailed on as US tour dates? If that is the case then Friday is less importnat to me than to others but if that is just naked aspiration from those of you in America then there is a different accent and action needed for me.

Hi Robin and everyone else:
The book which was handed out by a woman is called The Abortion Of My Mind (really) and her name was Pilar. On the inside flap I have this written:
An Evening With Leonard Cohen
Emcee: Scott Muny (NYC DJ at the time)
Songs:
Bird on a Wire
So Long Marianne
You Know Who I Am (new) maybe new poem
Marriage of Joan Of Arc
'Loud Song'
Sisters of Mercy
Story of Isaac
Hey That's No Way To Say Goodbye
Suzanne
new song something and english
and possibly The Stranger Song

I have a jpg of my notes if anyone thinks that will help. I'll bring the book to the pre-show.

i've got it and am surprised no-one spotted this - he gave enough hints during each gig of the tour...he's going to release his very own workout DVD called 'Feel The Righteous Burn With Lenny'

Thanks very much indeed for that invaluable setlist information Vic. I have passed the information on to the appropriate archivists. I can't help wondering if the "loud song" might have been Diamonds In the Mine?

Enjoy tonight's show. Please post a few thoughts on it afterwards.

Robin, I saw Leonard in StonyBrook University some time around 1970 or 1971. Do your archivists have any info on this show?

The news is out -
Leonard is doing five gigs with Dickie Rock - four in the Point (02) Dublin in July and one in Cork.
All proceeds to the Cork hurling panel.

Leonard Cohen U.S. tour kicks off in Austin
By Michael Corcoran | Monday, January 19, 2009, 06:55 PM

Hallelujah! Canadian singer-songwriting legend Leonard Cohen is starting his 2009 U.S. tour at the Long Center April 2. This is a tip from bassist Roscoe Beck, the Austinite who serves as Cohen’s musical director. There are no ticket details yet.

Cohen’s promoter AEG Live could not be reached for confirmation, though a source at the Long Center said the final details of the show are being worked out.

Cohen has not toured the U.S. in 16 years. His recent shows in Europe sold out in minutes.

I should know this, but I don't want to make a mistake. What is 12.01 am EST in UK GMT terms ? does that make it about 5.01 am on Friday or am I getting it all wrong ?

And, er, is it worth staying up/getting up at 5 am... (in Britain) ? If I check this site at a more normal time (for me), like 8am, will I have missed the coop of the century?? Aaaagh, wot a choice!!!!
