George are you truly in Scotland and one of my countrymen or are you elsewhere?
How can I find information about my country when it is hidden from my countrymen. I asked for help from those outside.
And please don't 'shout' on the board. It shows poor manners.
Heretic, I would rather cross swords with you anyday than some contributers. You at least have a penetrating and probing intellect.
George, why don't you have a go at Paula as well? Perhaps Paula can give as good as she gets!!!
Young men and women are dying in Iraq and George tells me to shut up in as many words. Sad.

Byron,

What? Byron in the dark? Impossible! What about the wonderful BBC4? And the internet websites you have been touting as the repository of wisdom for the masses. Does it work only when looking for dirt on the Americans?

Poor Britain, Byron can't find any "information" to transform you into a workers' paradise!

And trying to divert my attention to Paula is rather like hiding behind a woman's skirts, don't you think Byron? Pathetic.

Well, George Gordon ~

There are a few who understand that being fully human allows for warranted/unwarranted anger when something strikes them wrong; and that the value of a long, ongoing association far outweighs a tiff. Not everything someone says or does gets sifted through the propriety filter. That's life. Another way of expressing that has already been used ~ very recently ~ by Kush. Those who have a deeper kind of respect for each other, and which has built over time, will work through it, in their own way. This process can be seen in subsequent postings/conversations between the people [depending on the place where it occurs].

Not that you have necessarily noticed, but Kush and I have both disagreed and agreed on the Forum. You would have no way of knowing that Kush and I have both disagreed and agreed, behind the scenes. However, we have; and we've always tried to do so from a position of mutual respect. You likely passed or glossed over a comment I made quite prior to our spat, regarding my always having perceived him as a reasonable person. Some people value a positive, productive relationship with someone over perpetuating the alienation that can result from a petty quarrel.

From what I have seen, you emerge and thrive on people being at odds with each other. If stoking one fire doesn't get any results, you move on to another and try there. That's your personal choice.

If Kush opts to say, "This too shall pass :D " and comment on something that spilled [from out of the lake  ] and onto the page from me; and I choose to follow up by making my own comment, and thanking him [for his objectivity, which allowed him to appreciate it], then what you're witnessing is problem-solving in progress. It truly is a matter between him and I. However, you may one day consider trying things from a different perspective, so this explanation may, in fact, have some merit for you.

It's unfortunate that Kush's and my working to keep our mutual respect intact is so disappointing for you. However, I'm more concerned with him, and am pleased that he took my P.S. in the spirit it was meant; and that he further opened that door with his own response; which I then opened the rest of the way. How we went about doing it is how we went about doing it. I also look forward to receiving a beautiful tape from him any day, and I feel very good that we have gotten back on an even keel with each other :D , prior to its arrival. No need to tangent on the tape, either, as that happens to be only a matter of timing, and not what our association rests upon.

~ Elizabeth :D

I'm enjoying the sunshine that comes from reconciliation between friends :D . I'm not sure what you get from trying to cast your shadows, but the sun is still shining brightly where I'm at :) .

OK George, you win. I won't keep banging on about America, or politics, or lying politicians, or the problems of the developing world, or health issues which affect everybody, or how important human relationships are, or how difficult it is to grasp the meaning of our poor pathetic mundane lives. I'll follow your clear example George. I'll wait until you contribute something worthy of note and then I'll copy the master. OK George? I promise to treat you with the same respect you have shown me and more importantly, some others on this forum. There now George, you've got a cast iron, copper bottomed, water tight, public promise from me. I will adopt your code of behaviour in this forum. I await your viewpoint on the issues which you hold dear.
OK George?

Dear Babysitter,

Amazingly, you pat yourself on the back for having told Kush that he is a "reasonable" person. Before snarling at him to keep his "schitty hands" off your character. You are a wonderment.

Kush is patient and kind. That is why your treatment of him was so deplorable and uncalled for.

Just once it would be nice if you would publicly say "I'm sorry" for your "unwarranted anger" toward a Forum member. Instead of couching your replies as though you are "problem solving" and "opening doors". Lady Bountiful dispensing her favours.

Your perspective will remain your own, George Gordon. I don't happen to share it. My actions will be based on my perspective; they have been, and they are. How I took and how I reacted to Kush's posting is not a matter for your concern. You never hesitate to come from out of the shadows, however, to say something negative about/to me. My purpose here is not to please you. I wouldn't gravitate to you in real life; and I don't gravitate to you here. Maybe you can arm wrestle [or strong-arm] an apology out of someone else.

Why you have so much invested in how I do/don't react; what I do/don't say; and/or how I do/don't say it ~ escapes me. What's more, I'm no longer trying to catch it. "Choosing your battles carefully" often means investing your energy where it's likely to do the most good. The 12-step programs also have the Serenity Prayer which, in essence, says the same thing. "Tis better to just ignore incivility" is another one of merit. Bye.

Lizzytysh,

But that is your problem. You see things only from your perspective. You seem to think that you have an exclusive right to chastize others. But when someone censures you, well then, the shrieking begins.

And if you want me to stay in the shadows, then tame that tongue of yours.

Makera,

Don't let the bloodletting deter you from posting. I admire the literary allusions in your postings. And at least you are coherent most of the time.

Makera, beware of pseudo greeks bearing gifts, especially when their final sentence is a rather shabily phrased criticism of your intellect.
I rather like this copying of the Master. No effort. No sweat. No integrity. Wonderful. Lizzy you are completely wrong. I have sunk to the depths you shy away from and the poisons which rise to the top of the pool are rather intoxicating.
Bye. from mini george.

Byron,

Delighted to hear you acknowledge me as your Master. Perhaps we will be able to wean you away from your babysitter after all.

Master????? your feeble attempt at humour is pathetic. Your sleight of hand at trying to get in my good books is a waste of time. Why can't you say something sensible and non-sexist for a change? You keep attacking the women in this forum. Get a life. You're always going on about one woman or another and its boring.
Bye. from mini george.

Oh and bye the way, I never called you the master, Can't you read properly or what? If you want to speak make sure you get your facts right. Getting any sense out of you is like getting s**t out of a rocking horse.

PS Bye from mini george.

Lizzie, you should try this. It's dead easy and you can call anybody you want to 'a pillock.'

PPS bye from mini george.

PPPS for the record I never called anybody a pillock, but if the cap fits........
Bye from mini george.

Truly, you people amaze me..

"Muffins or war", was it? I'll have a cup of coffee and a book of poetry, please.
And I'll volunteer as the metaphorical pillow if anyone needs to pound on anything again...

Blessings of peace

Byron,

Write a cheque out to me immediately. I demand royalties. You stole the word "pathetic" and the phrase "get a life" from my previous posts to you. Lizzytysh would not approve of your "plagiarism". And you don't want to upset her now, do you?

At last! Some laughs from this thread!!

Ooh, Byron, that vitriolic wit is really something! Reminds me of a bitchy queen I used to know. Fortunately, because he was a true friend, it was never directed at me. He also had a better sense of 'which way was up' too. Is it wishful thinking on your part, or what, with this "180 degree... change of argument" scatology? The quote from William Blake was "Listen to the fools reproach, it is a kingly title!" (you'll find it on the last page of the "Problem Solved" thread). All the name-calling and sarcasm directed at me was getting very impressive. Proves I was doing something right. Wot, with all those rats doing wheelies on their quad bikes! 8)

George G., I'd find your posts more amusing if you weren't so lukewarm in your purported 'defence' of me. I would have expected better from a fellow Scot! I'm "mostly coherent"? Pray tell where I am not. (Coded in-jokes don't count).
Funny, I've always liked the name George, I called my best beloved Basenji 'George'. He was my top winning champion when I bred & showed Basenjis in Oz, under my 'Angari' kennel prefix. George's AKC registered name was: Ch. Angari Bearcat (by Ch. Afrika The Contender ex Ch. Angari Sufi). Barkless, fearless, African hunting dogs; just as Nature made them -- no man-made wimps are they! So, anyone named George has to at least measure up to the exemplary character and perspicacity of my favourite dog!

Pssst... Taigaku, it's really only a pillow fight; we don't need a surrogate pillow..yet....maybe a referee?
