Getting back from Manchester after the concert!

Post by Oh My Gawd!!! »

Hi all, first post! I'm totally stumped for ideas, I wondered if anyone could suggest anything.

I'm a student at LIPA in Liverpool, and I managed to just about scrape together the money for Leonard Cohen (including the extortionate booking fee, thanks Ticketmaster!). I have an open return to Manchester booked. :D

Problem is, I seem to get the impression that Leonard is stopping at 11pm every night without fail. I've looked into this and the last train back is from Manchester to Crewe, then from Crewe to Liverpool - this train is at 10:45pm :'(

Does this mean I have to miss the last half an hour or more of the concert to get the train, or can anyone here suggest anything else I haven't considered? What should I do!?

Thanks guys! :D xx

Hello OMG,

Get the 23.59 National Express coach from Manchester to Liverpool. Takes about an hour, but it’s direct and about a fiver. Manc coach station is about 10 mins walk from the MEN.

If you have an open return train ticket, you might be able to get the return portion refunded, if you smile and ask nicely at the ticket office… and that’ll pay for the above fare.

Hope this helps, I wouldn't advise missing the encores…

Hi OMG,
I haven't made plans for Sunday yet, but was under the impression there was a later train.
However if there is not, a few of us will probably be on the coach mentioned and look forward to meeting up with you before or after the concert.
It's a decent journey and depending where you live ,you can get off at Queens Drive or Liverpool city centre.
Tickets are £5.50
Look after yourself and (each)others. All the best Dave ♫♫♫
