I purchased a print a couple years ago off from eBay and always wondered why prints, T-shirts, and other references to Leonard Cohen were so hard to find. I was lucky enough to see a Leonard Cohen concert in 1994 while touring "The Future" and bought a black T-shirt with the artwork of Leonard, (same picture as the cover of Stranger Music), and it's a great conversation starter.
It's a nice feeling when a stranger makes a comment like, "cool shirt" and within a few seconds you find you are not the only fan around. I love when Leonard Cohen makes a brief presence in the media. Even if it is a Leonard Cohen cover thrown into a movie or television show. That's always a pleasant surprise.
Just writing this makes me think of a verse from The Partisan. If by his latest album or whatever reason Leonard Cohen gets an even larger fan base, (perhaps with the younger generation) we will be closer to freedom. LC: "Freedom soon will come. Then we'll come from the shadows."
Well enough rambling. Thanks for reading.
Leonard Cohen merchandise. Why so little?

Hello Robin,
I was wondering, a little less now, but it still comes up, why was it that it took so long for me to recognize or even hear Cohen's music? Thought, it was a punishment from God. But then I asked other people who I thought were kind of cool, and they would just look at me with a blank expression.
Thought, God must be punishing us, cause we're from the midwest.
Well I must have done my time, paid the price for ignorance. And the media God poured forth abundant blessings which gave hearing to my ears and seeing to my eyes ... What else? It was free! And if it ever happens again I'll tape the thing!
Just a little anti-media angst.
I feel better. uh-huh
