Shorties
When an Undertaker Buries an Under-Achiever Is It Long Overdue?
For those who vested hope in me
there's little fruit to bear.
For those who vested none at all
you nailed it fair and square.
Bury My Knee With Wounded Heart
Entombed in euphemism,
a truth wants to erupt.
Morbidities will out
not moulder and corrupt.
To wit, a man's exhumed
and never just dug up.
Rage Bespoils the Page
My rhymes were long on sound.
Of fury, not so much.
To those composed in anger,
they missed you, lighter touch.

Re: Shorties
So 9/11 came and blew your pants off?
You had it all figured out. LOLOL
Doctrine in stone just like the rest?
Your own marble arch, your own collectors marks!!
The Dragon has a Nebuchadnezzar moment!
And your seven years are almost up.
And I thought it was those... LOLOL
Ignore me, it's okay.
I'm probably a distraction anyway.
I'm not needed, but I needed this.
To find the plots, the human web
Is really cool, and keeps me busy.
Being here is good for my soul.
Thank you - for the umpteenth time.
Damn it, nothing will rhyme!

Re: Shorties
Apparently you took "Philadelphia" literally, when it actually is expressed on the back of the book. THIS is Philadelphia, not that. Welcome to Philadelphia.
You are the part of Sardis sealed in your forehead. You are one of the sealers, actually.
Then I heard this coming from the top floor of the Tower of Song.
I tried so hard my dear to show that you’re my every dream.
Yet you’re afraid each thing I do is just some evil scheme
A memory from your lonesome past keeps us so far apart
Why can’t I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart
Another love before my time made your heart sad and blue
And so my heart is paying now for things I didn’t do
In anger unkind words are said that make the teardrops start
Why can’t I free your doubtful mind, and melt your cold cold heart
You’ll never know how much it hurts to see you sit and cry
You know you need and want my love yet you’re afraid to try
Why do you run and hide from life, to try it just ain’t smart
Why can’t I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart
There was a time when I believed that you belonged to me
But now I know your heart is shackled to a memory
The more I learn to care for you,the more we drift apart
Why can’t I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart

You, yourself posted your first poem here, only a couple of weeks ago.
What kind of response did you get - what kind of response where you hoping for - where you hoping someone would follow you ignoring your poem and idea's so that he could promote his own agenda?
Come on Casey, your a big Jesus fan - isn't he the golden rule guy. (I might be wrong there, but I'm pretty sure he would have been a fan of the idea.)
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with criticism or a good debate - if that's what you were aiming for I think you missed your mark.

Ah Cate, it's so cute that you rise to my defense. But everything's not for everybody. Casey's entitled to his guffaws. I'll take unfiltered emotion over canned applause any day.

Re: Shorties
Well, I can't stop laughing it's true, but it has nothing to do with the quality of the poems... They're great, rythmic... Truly inspired. Like the Pope's last speech.
I'm only laughing at the content.
And like with Myra, it's hard to believe my sense of self-deprecating humour can be so lost on you all. Wherefore?
Old judges, beheaded by their own shovels, never die, they just grow to love their thrones.
You can find multitudenous ways to hurt my feelings, for sure, to call me names, to put me down, to bring tears to my eyes, to make me feel the fool...
But I've been judged by Yahweh, thank you, dear friends.
If I want to get angry, I'll get angry - with just cause. If I want to underachieve instead of lie and cheat in order to achieve in a world that's been fixed by cowardly lions, I'll achieve behind your backs.
If I wanted join you on your fruitful thrones - I suppose I could. But those thrones are frozen in place for a thousand years - no thank you! I'm a young man by comparison! I'll stay fruitless!
And if I want to "erupt" a truth, I'll do it right here in the open two times a day for 7 months, and your self-blinded eyes won't know the difference.
You're too busy kneeling on those thrones.
I love you all anyway. And I was created for struggle! :-)

Re: Shorties
Casey, you are very funny. You say unkind things about judges, insinuating that certain folks here are judging, you say you've been judged, and you proceed to judge. I don't know you well enough to know if you're being intentionally funny or not. Everyone is fine, you know, and judgment happens all the time.Casey Butler wrote: Old judges, beheaded by their own shovels, never die, they just grow to love their thrones.

Okay Norm - I'll sheath my wooden sword. Casey just laughs at me anyways when I try to stab him with it.
Casey, this seems to be my week to offend, I've missed a few people but I still have another day to go.
If I hurt your feelings, I apologize. I should be more careful.
As for a throne - I'm not really a big chair sitter.
I usually sit on the floor or curled up on the couch (I almost said coach - that's true too ....hehe)
Even now I'm sitting on a kneeling stool, not a chair - so I don't think a throne would be comfortable to me.

I'm all for the judgment that happens rarely (just walk down the streets of any city), and all against the unkind judgment that happens all the time.
Using metaphor makes it really hard to tell the difference. I think that if you don't hear the judgment, but only hear the unkind judgment, the judgment was not applicable to you in the first place. :-)
I just ask you to take it on trust that I am not unkind, even though you don't know me. I trust your judgment.

But I do think a throne can be any kind of chair, and it would have to be comfortable.
