All Mooned Out

The moon has called in sick.
The waxing got too thick
with moonstruck poetasters
extolling cheesy craters.

Thus bidden, night-time lips
should wane into eclipse.
The moon has earned a break.
Good night for goodness sake!

So how about a pact
to cut the moon some slack
and hold that lunar swoon
to once in a blue moon?
