Follow the Raven
Follow the raven into your, mourning purple, subconscious, mind
Examine the mysteries and secrets, it will search for you to find
All of your life is recorded in hidden cells and caves, located here
All of your happiness and all your obsessions and primeval fears.
Follow the raven, into the dark, damp, memories, inside
Duality exists here, honeycombed in solitary prisons, side by side
The raven can neighbour here with the white, spiritual, dove
Evil can indeed, feed off the repressions of pure love.
Follow the raven, past your dreams and onto infinity
Watch it metamorphose to the Holy Dove, close to the divinity
Time will unwind and straighten, as the black becomes white
Shadows will be chased away, fleeing from the divine Holy Light.
Follow the bird into the secrets of the casket of the Holy Ark
Watch the universe replicate and glow in the spiritual dark
Note the golden sheen before the split and the fall
That mirrors and gleams in the white marbled, architectural hall.
Follow your spirit, back to the dawn of life
Where singularity existed and there was no negativity or strife
Where only darkness reigned like the boredom of the blessed womb
Light polarised and created duality and motivated the gloom.
Georges.

Re: Follow the Raven
It must have been hard for you, Georges...
Follow him in peace. That's what he's there for.

Hi George,
You have some interesting imagery here. Not that I necessarily subscribe to each of the thoughts that underlie the images here, but like many of your poems the surreal images in this one are interesting to me. This is like inner space. Thanks.

I enjoyed the trip G.As Kush says, "great imagery".
A little didactic though, which always stains things for me. It leaves me squirming and un-easy.
eg;
"I followed the raven into my morning purple" and so on.
This way the reader doesn't feel like they are receiving a "lecture" from some all knowing, self obsessed wise one. Rather, they join you as an equal in your journey, a fellow traveller and perhaps aspirant.
Maybe a minor or unimportant "shift" (into first person) for most, but crucial to this human being.
Regards, Matj

I would prefer it written in first person.Follow the raven into your, mourning purple,
"I followed the raven into my morning purple" and so on.

I'm sorry, I can't read this. The way you abuse that poor comma is too much of a turn off.
Poor little comma. Come here, you poor thing. There, there.
No need to be such a teardrop, my lovely little precious.
There are plenty of more comfortable places for you.
