Ha ha ha ha I was born in Sunderland so wouldn't know what a trophy looked like since 1970 something hence my trip to drop off a ticket with Stan was less heroic than the Berlin Airlift lol.
Hotel lobbies, regardless of which one are lovely for people spotting and as I have a lot to do in Town, I can schmooze in The Midland or radisson or St Johns or lowry or and just delight in the views.
I was always put off by The Mark A by it's value means quantity approach which resulted in my experiences in people sending their kids out to feed seagulls which then tried to dump in my claret lol but it isn't a bad call
I am hoping to meet up with a couple of people from here and we may well bump into you and I'm sure that would be good.
Regards,
Jon

Bloody hell. Roker Park away in winter. I'm still warming up..

The MA is not a fave of mine but as a meet up venue it might do.
The Kings is a great boozer but will people find it ?
actually a good place is El Rincon 2 mins from the OH but it will be very busy

I love El Rincon and know Rafa pretty well. Evuna more or less over thge road is `neat too and wine or Tapas and not too much of a rip off. Are there any shists on ElRincs walls that aren't spanish? And don't forget that for people from the seat of Roker Park a spanish shirt is a string vest.... I'll call Raf if you want to go to EL R and see if we can get a bit of space earmarked for those who might turn up

Evuna is sound (and a finer wine list than Rincon)but not as cosmopolitan as rafa's..another shout, but now it's getting confused is Dimitris, the bar ?

I'd say to be fair to raf he doesnt need 100s of LC people sipping juice that's why the Mark Addy might be better ?

No and not Jawata or Negresco ... Evuna, I thought would do just a glass of at their bar as opposed to Tapas and a table, although I have always eaten ... if lightly .... and would it really be a sip of juice or a glass or two of red? I have never done earlies at Raf's and if he will be busy I agree but it would be a good call if he's empty. I can get Peter and Marcus to keep us a space ... room.... garden at The Briton's if that is wanted and music and even a nibble or two if needed, they are mates from years ago so we can avoid the suits hour if needed

I have doubts about the Mark Addy, went in before seeing Bobby the last time he played the Arena and the beer tasted as if it was straight from the Irwell.

The attached reviews are also pretty negative

Saying that I will go with the majority

Sawyers Arms looks like a football pub, with the Euro's on it might be packed

Like I said in a previous post I will be dropping in to both The Britons & The Peveril anyway

I suspect that it's USP of no smoking may have been usurped by the many and next doors no hair policy may have been copied too but in all honesty I'm not sure if I have ever been in there since I qit and I never did before I did

Windy, I am less than likely to see you with Nancy and Swiss Family Swanick in The Pev but may see you in the BP. Dave, who has now moved to manage his own place in Macc had said he'd play The Man so mention it as I guessthey will if I drop some in and ask Gwen or Peter or Markus, it has a lot ofwhat I like in life embedded in the place and I hope to see you there, a makes everyone happy rendezvous seems a tad like herding cats ....... meeeeow lol

This is why I have taken a fascist democratic decision to decide upon The Deansgate.
We'll meet at 1900 GMT (Greater Manchester Time).
