Late at night,
When the wind sings like rustling wet leaves
Trying to dry themselves in the cold
Someone tells me something,
And although I understand
I would very much like not to.
Maybe you will understand this
Sometime, late at night
When the stars in the sky
Speak to the sick light of the pale street lamps
And the rising mist takes pity
On drifting cigarette smoke caught in the wind.
Maybe you will understand, but if not...
I will try not to reach too far in expecting.
Pity
