My Nightmares

Post by Byron »

My nightmares chase me through the night
My darkness is the waking light

Swing the axe
Pull the rack
I’ll attempt a different tack

I’m nailed to my heart
My hope is my prison

I’m going over the edge
And you’re too mean to wave goodbye
"Bipolar is a roller-coaster ride without a seat belt. One day you're flying with the fireworks; for the next month you're being scraped off the trolley" I said that.

I like this one, Byron. Such a succinct portrayal of the problem that simply living poses for a sensitive person, who cannot help becoming emotionally involved in the suffering of those around them. Life would be so much simpler if we just didn't care - but then what would be the point :?

Thank you. We can only learn from what we see and hear and feel. The learning process is rewarding but painful, and sometimes brutal. I abhorr brutality in any form and although it causes extremely uncomfortable experiences, I try to learn from those feelings. The operative word here is 'try,' which doesn't even come close to a definitive description of swimming through and against a sludge of human angst and insensitivity. Thanks once again. Byron 'sends his regards'.

A little bird asks if you had a good holiday?

Thanks to Byron's little bird for the enquiry. Yes, I had a wonderful holiday, the undoubted highlight of which was meeting Lizzytysh and her friend Ron. We got back very early Sunday morning, and the british weather came as a terrible shock. I'm sitting here swathed in blankets, trying to catch up with three week's worth of postings before jet-lag kicks in again and my brain seizes up. I'm also playing a constant random selection of LC tracks to ease the withdrawal symptoms after three weeks spent among non-LC-enthusiasts. (The weekend spent with Lizzy doesn't count, as we couldn't get to a CD player.)

It's getting late even by Florida time, and my bewildered body is starting to demand some downtime, so goodnight ladies......

Officially now, welcome back to the Forum, linmag :D ~ the timeframe being quite totally  off, as to my anticipation of your return :? . I mentioned you long ago on here somewhere! Well, at least what feels like long ago! It was wonderful having my first, Internet-meeting experience with you and your delightful troupe! Your and your friends' children are amazing! Ron's comment was, "What's really neat is that they're [all] the kind of people I like to hang out with, anyway." Yes, you're right, it is getting late with Florida time and I'm about to follow suit, with you, absent the British weather. Goodnite :)
