Casey what does irrationally enumerated mean? I'm not being flippant - I don't understand.

My table? It’s not my table - It was here when I arrived. I just sat down and made myself comfortable, I just assumed that was okay.
But I'm waiting for that big table that fits everybody... It's a partisan thing, Myra! :-)
Oh God - there goes uncle Casey – wandering away from the table again because the homeless still have no place to sit. Casey at least come and grab a chicken leg to wander with – you’re all skin and bones – how will you pull out a chair for the next person who comes, if you in that shape. You do realize Uncle Casey that there is not one of us here, who does not wish this table big enough to seat the world – I think we’ll have to settle on it being big enough for all who choose to come for now – well, there might be a few -some people can’t stand to eat in groups.

Hi Manna, It kind of makes sense – but just kinda. Greg mentioned Cantor - I briefly looked up his set theory in Wikipedia – but I don’t get – I might have a better look later. Basically I think he has a way of counting – I’m not sure how you would do that though because the set is infinite – so really how could there be more of one than the other – I know there is – it makes sense and doesn’t make sense.
I was wondering if the calculations change at all if the soldier-points are based on a regular but non-square packing scheme. I don't think it would be different, or much different, but I don't know how to show that either
Good question – What if they were in some kind of irregular pattern like a hexagon or what about a circle formation

If there were no uncles to wander away because the homeless have no place to sit, even this Nightengale's table we're at now could not exist!

And never mind about the homeless for a minute, what about the rest?

What about the ones who won't eat chicken or pork, etc... What about those who don't like eating in groups (which I don't mind, BTW)?

Last time I sat at the table you're talking about was 1969 - when I found out it was really the Incredible Shrinking Table.

I know, I know, the shrinking is an illusion.

The table doesn't actually shrink, it just never got bigger to accomodate my kids - not to mention the other two thirds of the world.

I'm waiting for the big table you don't need an invitation to, 'cause chairs there are your right, Myra, and there's lots of room for you no matter who you are.

Basically I think he has a way of counting – I’m not sure how you would do that though because the set is infinite – so really how could there be more of one than the other – I know there is – it makes sense and doesn’t make sense.
There is an infinity of numbers between 0 and 1, but the infinity of numbers between 0 and 100 is bigger. Of course, it would take forever to count them all, or maybe only half that long.

Irrational enumerating... "You can add up the parts but you won't have the sum..."

It went like this:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..."

God just keeps getting in the way, doesn't He...

This was the faith from which we started.

If bitter searching of the heart doesn't appeal to you, I don't mind. Lot's of people feel that way.

Hi Casey – I was reading to my son last night and I thought of you and a question (probably a rhetorical one) that you asked weeks ago.
I still haven't decided if your for real or not, but that's okay because I'm not, so it all works out.

The gentle art of persuasion

The Sun and the North Wind were always arguing over who was more powerful. One day they decided to settle the dispute once and for all. So basically Leonard is able to teach me, because he creates within me a strong desire to strip off my cloths – haha kiddin - kinda

So be the sun Casey, not the wind – let people come to their own conclusion to remove their cloths and then be the water that sooths them – water can move mountains.

However, my question wasn't rhetorical. I wanted to know how you thought he could express it in plain English. Leonard Cohen is a indeed like the sun from your marvelous quote there.
So be the sun Casey, not the wind...
If the sun had been doing its job to begin with there would have been no dispute with the wind.

But I'm not the sun, Myra, I'm not the wind, I'm not the moon or even a faint star on the horizon. I'm just Casey, vulture at the carcasse, the braying ass whose message you thought of when you were reading to your son (with your clothes on [sigh]).

If I were the sun, I would say this to Leonard Cohen on behalf of everyone he sings mystery to:

Hurt once and for all into silence.
A long pain ending without a song to prove it.
Who could stand beside you so close to Eden,
When you glinted in every eye the held-high
razor, shivering every ram and son?

And now the silent loony bin, where
The shadows live in the rafters like
Day-weary bats,

One can hold on to his torn and tattered clothes all they want...but its better to stand naked in the Sun. Besides the High-Held razor well remove all clothes when it comes around.

Oh lovely, let us continue the glorious stutter of speaking with others' words rather than our own. It is often the mode of this thread, and it is a lovely shroud we use to confess our lives. Though honestly, I'm never sure if I am the one being addressed. Covering myself doesn't mean I am not enjoying the world. I don't have to enjoy and embrace the world in the same way as anyone else. Are we still wondering if the sun or moon is more powerful?

I was just pondering the fact that the sun controls the wind and that the moon controls the tides.

The Moon is in love with the Earth and the Earth is in love with the Sun, therefore the Sun wins.

Of the three, the Earth is the one where I can live. So it wins me. Other than that, the three are part of the same suff, and they all three need each other in order to maintain the cosmic homeostasis. What is most important to me - my food, my skin or my hands? Without any one of hem, I would be very different.

You're right of course, all three necessary and all three are from the same. I thought the question though was - who was more powerful the moon or the sun?
