Not all the earth is as beautiful as you
The flowers that you tend in your garden
take their sweetness from your fragile fingers
Heaven and Earth come together as one
when kissed by the morning dew
The rain the slides down the petal
is sweat from your brow
You could bring color to a blind man's eyes
A deaf man could hear the beat of your heart
You could drive a man's heart wild
You give the love of an innocent child
I cheris the life you breathe
your eyes could turn a prisoner free
You have shown me how love can be
Through the first falls of autumn rain
I walk like a traveller with no name
a nomad on a path of pain
and the wind cries, " who shall give shelter to this man of many autumn winds
You awake with eyes as soft as butterfly's wings and reply, "together we'll walk the garden and rest in each others heart"
Under the early autumn moon we wait for dawn to break
Hearts tangled
and we embrace like birds whispering into morning mist
Then so your flowers will bloom and fall
like a poet sitting with cups of snow in his hands
Autumn makes the birds and clouds look old
but they smile when they gaze upon your garden
yet the biggest smile belongs to me
for I can smell your fragrance on my skin
I can see how the rain clings to the leaves
and drips upon the frowns of the flowers
I give to you, my butterfly, a dreaming heart once lost in winter clouds
a song singing through the breeze, a feather resting on a bee,
dew drops to wash away the dust, a willow bending across a solumn stream, the sobbing of a soldiers widow on the corners of a last love letter
I give to you all of my dreams, all of the flowers as I wander on
As you tend your garden in the rain, your flowers take away my pain
and never shall you work be in vain
For every seed the flowers hold, then so in my heart your heart I'll behold.
Flowers
Dear Phil,
This is so lush and so beautiful a use of nature for expressing your love. I see and feel and smell flowers and life everywhere in it. I enjoy reading it.......
......"take their sweetness from your fragile fingers"
......"You give the love of an innocent child / I cherish the life you breathe"
I could quote more. It's reminiscent to me of some of the poetry from many years gone by, but I'm not poetry-educated enough to tell you by which poet.
