I have already mailed the Candain embassy, but got no reply yet:

Good Day,
I have recently heard Mr. Leonard Cohen is going on a tour this summer, that will include most of Europe.
I, as many other Israelis, am a great fan of Mr. Cohen's works, and think of him as one of the most important poets and songwrites of our era. His works have touched many people in this country, partly because they bear the mark of his jewish descendancy.
Furthermore, I am sure that it is in your interest to spread the works of every Canadian artist, including Mr. Cohen.
It would mean much to me if the Canadian Embassy contributed in anyway it can to bring Leonard Cohen to perform in Israel.
Thank you,
Liav Teichner
Haifa, Israel

If you read this meassage, and haven't still got a letter from me about L. Cohen, don't worrt! You'll be e-mailed soon!

I hope very much that we will be able to host Leonard Cohen in Israel.
I am sure he is well aware of the magnitude of admiration for him and his art here. Meantime we decided not to take chances and will go to the Amsterdam concert.

I'm waiting to see him for 23 years so I decided not to wait for him here in Israel & i'm looking for a good deal in Amsterdam.

Of course. Soldiers should always sacrifice themselves and be in the front. Will you feel safe going the a Leonard Cohen show in Europe without some security? You know the kind of punk teens you can find in these kind of shows.

That reminds me something. When I was sixteen I told my mother I'm going to Tel-Aviv to see Matti Caspi with the kibutz chamber orchestra. Mom lookes at me seriously and told me: "you know Liav, people get squashed in that kind of concerts"

Oh yeah, all that pogo dancing and constant stage diving in Caspi's concerts- quite risky ! :- ) let's not talk about seeing Cohen's concerts in other countries- it depresses Liav and rightly so !
Yonatan- how was Nadel's lecture ? (And why does the Hebrew Uni always gets the interesting stuff?)

We've already got more than 300 people n the group "Leonard Cohen -Please Don't Pass Us By! Include Israel in your tour" in Facebook. I'm getting a lot of support and letters. Hope Leonard hears about it and cares.

Hi all, Im boarding as well, will join the facebook group in a sec and will try to recruit as many as possible.....About Jarkko's comment , I wouldnt try to read between the lines. As you probably noticed I posted Jarkko a week ago and his reply did not convince me of anything but the need to be patient, however being active is oh so much better :)

BTW, We know an Israeli producer that might be interested....he usually brings performing artists and not musicians, however he is somewhat of an oldetimer and might be interested, if only for the sentiments....
We will contact him this later on this week, can't hurt trying a different angle :)

We have grown - more than 500 people due to publicity!
Maz, I understand negotiations are already underway, but there's no reason not to try. Keep us posted.
I have a feeling good news are just around the corner!

I really hope you are right Liav
We have 642 people in our facebook group so far and the fans responses I read and see there and in other places with regards to a possible LC concert are quite emotional and anticipating !
