montreal SOLD OUT after 24 hours general public sale

Post by VELOVERMONT »

Quite fitting that Leonard's shows in his native city should have sold out after no more than one day of sales to the general public ! Not a ticket left via Place des Arts website.

Although Leonard belongs to people of the whole earth , it will be quite an extraordinarily emotionnal moment when Leonard walks on the stage of Place des Arts, not too far from the river where Susan took him long time ago, and is greeted by his Montreal fans. Proudness and happiness is what we will be feeling and expressing, proudness for the long time achievements of our favorite son, happiness to see him back on stage for what for probably will be his last hurrah.

actually, what's interesting is that while admission.com shows no seats available, both the place des arts site and the link through the jazz festival http://www.montrealjazzfest.com/Fijm200 ... il_en.aspx
show seats left as of right now (1:20 pm), including some pretty good ones (row f on the aisle for instance).
they also show seat 22 in row aa (first row) available for the 24th, but just the single seat.

so if you are still looking for montreal tickets, make sure to check all the sites!

I have asked for 2 tickets at the Place des Arts venue for every offered categories for june 23/24/25 and got the answer : no tickets available

Probably if you ask for ONE tickets there are still available tickets.

But this is tantamount to a sold out when only single tickets remains.

I must agree with you.Tickets are still available.
I checked Place des Arts site and they indeed show available tickets.Still, when I previously checked a few hours ago, using the same procedure,NO TICKETS WERE AVAILABLE.

They must hold blocks of tickets and then decide to release them (when they can't make better use of them)

Seems every ticketing venue behave strangely ( see other posts)

I just bought my tickets by calling them directly and they were able to look at every day and tell me which day had the best seat availalbe.

My suggestion is to look for single seats as the seats together are probably not as good.

A question for the lucky ones who managed to get tickets. Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel not too far from the downtown area?

I just checked the Place des Arts website. June 23 is sold out, and it seems that the only tickets left for the 24 and 25 are up on the mezzanine, balcony, and the 'loges'. Only redeeming grace is that those are the cheaper tickets.

Two points.

We bought tickets Thursday and managed to exchange them Friday for better ones. It seems there is inconsistent data on the PDA website. Someone on this list suggested phoning directly and I agree. The information on the website is erratic.

Also, someone asked about hotel rentals. Reserve NOW! Not only is June 24th St. Jean-Baptiste Day, probably the biggest holiday in Montreal, but it is also during the Montreal Jazz Festival, when hotel costs are vastly inflated. We rented a room for two w/parking at the Mid-Town Holiday Inn today for $160/night. This will be the general range. Here is their website:

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/e ... tid=110253

For other otions, you can explore this website:

http://www.tourisme-montreal.org/B2C/06 ... n_list.asp

There are many fair to middling to good hotels in downtown Montreal reasonably close to the Jazz Festival & Place des Art, but as I say the longer you wait to get a room, the more it will cost. I know this from hard experience.

All the best to everyone coming to the show. I am sooo excited!!

Thanks for the information. I managed to book a hotel room on Rene Levesque not too far from PDA. Now it's starting to seem real. I'll believe it for sure when my tickets arrive in the mail. I'm counting the days until June 23rd :D :D

There are still great seats avaliable all 3 nights. Only single tickets though, if you try for 2 you get the sold out message.
