From Wijbe about the Amsterdam concert:
I have done some research, and dicovered a official ticket office, there they say sale will start on 15/3/08 price is 59 euro.
The first site (see previous message) is raising the price from 115 to 150 euro, so they do it only for the money, and are NOT official sellers of the tickets!

Hey everybody, just new in this forum
An enormous THANX to the people who organized the map with the tour dates...
When I saw Athens at the end of the list, I jumped off my seat and during all day I just cannot work and think of anything else.
I'm so excited about the concert in Athens, it will be idyllic, just magical, dreamy, up in Lycabettus hill. I cannot wait!!!!!!!
All holiday plans will be planned according to the concert!!!
Any idea if there are tickets available from now? And where?
Thank you, Leonard, so much for this concert!
It will be my first concert and I think that it will be MONUMENTAL!
Until then!!!!!!!

Ticketmaster DO NOT have tickets for the Edinbugh gig. In fact I have just received an email from them saying they do not, at the moment, have any information regarding it. This confusion is all a bit much. First we are told there will be pre-sales, now it seems there will not be for Europe. Then we are given incorrect/misleading ticket seller information. I realise that jarkko is only telling us what he is being told but, after waiting so long, is is very frustrating.

I spoke with Seetickets this morning regarding a ticket that I booked for Rufus Wainwright on a presale today (http://www.artistticket.com/rufuswainwright/ in case anyone's interested?!) and they said that they will be selling tickts for the O2 and will likely be doing Manchester too but that they had no details on the latter. The guy on the phone also mentioned that there will probably be a presale on Thursday but didn't have any details for that as yet. Perhaps we should set a seperate top feed on this that people can post to with addresses if someone happens to stumble on a presale somewhere?! It's all very exciting! :D

You can now sign-up at the O2 for email notification of when Leonard's tickets will be on sale:

http://www.theo2.co.uk/event/leonard_cohen.html

They also have all sorts of useful links there with information about the O2 and the surrounding areas.

Sadly that doesn't tell us anything we don't already know, that is that tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday morning

I am finding it very confusing just trying to work out *where* I can get a ticket from? I would like to go to a concert in the UK, preferably London, but I have stared at the information on this site and am totally lost.

I will probably miss the concert because I can't find where to click to get a ticket.

We try to keep the schedule page on the main site updated with ticket information, too, although things seem to move now faster than we are getting details.

It will be easier to check that page than to read through all the threads here on the forum. Here is a direct link to that page:

Hmmm ... I wasnt aware that Seetickets were an official ticket agency for any of these gigs - I am of course open to correction. If they are not then the only way they could offer a presale is to take orders for tickets ( at a considerable markup) which they themselves would acquire through the official means.

Wow this is historic!!!
Jarkko we are so fortunate to have this site serve us in this capacity. I have my fingers crossed that he may come to Fredericton for our Jazz Festival. Just my luck His dates are in the middle of courses I am taking grrrrr what kind of karmic game is that?

Looking forward to detailed posts of the concerts. I hope all that want tickets can get them.

Yes, but this page still says Ticketmaster are selling the Edinburgh Castle tickets but, as I have said elsewhere, they told me today they do not, as yet, know anything about them :?

I got the information (Ticketmaster also for Edinburgh) from the tour management at AEG Live. I will change it if they let me know that it's not correct. Many things seem to be still under construction, so it remains to be seen whether it is AEG or ticketmaster who has the latest info.

***Update: Ticketmaster has added Edinburgh today and they start to sell the tickets on Friday at 9 am***

captrenault wrote:Yes, there are a new influx of members, and no doubt some of those new members have joined for the advance booking rights.

I have been aware of this site for a long time, but haven't felt the need to participate. There is one simple reason for that -- my love for Leonard is an intensely private and personal matter, and I haven't felt the slightest inclination to discuss his work and my affection for them with anyone else, much less get into contests of Quien Es Mas Macho in terms of fan cred.

Some of us prefer to worship in private, and so, have not felt the urge to join this site. That others have -- hey, if that's your thing, go right ahead.

I would say this, though: I don't understand why a bump in membership, upon the announcement that membership has its privileges, is at all a surprise. There are many fans (oh, how I hate that inadequate word) like me who will stop at nothing to get to see the man.

And in that, I suspect that old members and new members are exactly alike, new members seeking a spot in line, and old members looking to exclude them for their own benefit.

This is fine by me. You want tickets, I want tickets, these are the rules, and let the best man win. Just let's please be honest about it, and leave the belittling out of it. No doubt, many of us are a little antsy, and will continue to be until we get our tickets in our grubbly little hands, but we shouldn't let our passion lead to the denigration of others for having expressed their commitment in other ways, or for the fact that other people want those same precious objects just as desperately as ourselves.

Leonard, Jarkko, thank you for this opportunity. Anything to beat the scalpers.
I'm one of these newcomers. I'm not even here for myself, but my fiancee who has been a devotee of Leonard all her life. She will be celebrating her 40th birthday this year, and I *really really* want to surprise her with a pair of tickets. I'm a recent convert to Leonards music and poetry, so perhaps I'm not as knowledgeable as some on this forum, but I know enough to think that Leonard himself would probably agree wholeheartedly with what captrenault said.

I wish everyone luck in getting tickets. To those lucky enough to do so, I hope you enjoy what I'm sure is going to be a transformative experience. It's been 15 year since his last tour. Who know when (or if ) Leonard will tour again.
