No US Dates (...yet)

Post by blw »

That's terrible news. I'm going to develop an ulcer wondering if any US dates will get added or the whole idea will get scrapped. Although it was fantastic watching him tonight at the R&R HOF induction ceremony reciting 'Tower of Song', that surely cannot be his only 2008 appearance here.

I live in Mid-Michigan, about 4 hours drive each way from Toronto, so I think I should get some tickets for June 6/7. It would be foolish to risk it, right? Also, opening tour dates always have an extra lively edge.

I would like to thank the moderators of this board for doing such a great job with tour info updates.

yeah if i were you i'd buy tickets. would be kind of cool to see leonard in canada anyway, it makes it an international adventure!

but i get the feeling he'll add U.S. dates. i remain optimistic. (and poor - i can't afford to fly from the west coast to toronto, so i'm hoping for at least a vancouver date).

As Tom posted in another thread:
Tom Sakic wrote:This is the list only until August 1st (plus, Canadian maritimes shows to be announced).

Note the date on the tour poster - 2008-2009 - US tour and new EU tour are in plans for Winter 2008/09. if this leg of the tour goes well.
So, fingers-crossed on your behalf...

I really hope so. I'm all the way down in Atlanta and I desperately want to see him.

Yes, the more I think about it the luckier I feel that I live only 4hrs from Toronto. If another date close to me gets added down the road, I would not think twice about attending.

It's likely a US leg will get added, but until then, people living far from Ontario or Québec are faced with either a travel/expense dilemma or the unsettling feeling of not knowing. The chances are slim that Mr. Cohen's first tour in 15 years would not include any US dates at all. Not impossible but not likely.

This is what we get for not showing Mr. Cohen more love over the years. ;- )

I just bought my ticket for Montreal and am going to drive from New York to see him!
I can't risk waiting for a US date and then it doesn't happen.

Hello!

I am a long time lurker and first time poster :D

I was just wondering if there was ever any kind of an explanation as to why it was announced that there would be May United States dates, but now none have been announced.

Thanks!

I was wondering that, too ---

I'm just really, really hoping that the US will happen. I can't afford to travel, as I am most likely getting laid off from my job...

I was really hoping for US dates in May. My National Guard unit is getting activated in September to go to Iraq so I won't be around during the Winter if he tours the US then.

Scalping a ticket and driving to Canada really isn't economical at the moment, either.
