Knowing that a lot of sites (such as this one) notify you of a private message by opening a pop-up window I didn't turn on the stop pop-ups that is part of the AOL8 package.
So what happens now?

Now I know 98 is not the most stable of systems but I do wonder if software designers are doing their job properly. When I worked in the industry we used to test each subroutine/procedure/function, almost to death, so that it would accept any input and would only produce acceptable output. The whole was then put together and tested just as exhaustively before being released to the customers.
Has the need to get a new release on the system taken over from getting a system that works? Is it more important for todays software manufacturers to produce something tomorrow than to provide high quality software that does the job?
I'm sick to death of being told (and this is not just AOL) "That's scheduled for correction in Update 5.1.4.2"
If it's not ready for release guys just don't release it
JTS (That's my rant for today)
