waiting in the wings

Post by lightedpalace »

...she waits for wings.

i'm not sure the first stanza belongs here, or if it should be set aside.
let me know what you think. all feedback is appreciated.

toxins create a membrane,
cloistering my awareness.
clausterphobia.
clusterfucks.
closet-cases.
clash.

waiting for lightning
i am looking forward to the rains.
i am looking forward to the smell of thawing earth.
i am looking forward to the day the river sheds its skin,
the song of ice chimes;
the dance of undulating water shards.

this is the seasonal underworld.
there are no demons in this heartspace,
no angels in this mindscape...
there is only me, and my intentions.
there is a toxic residue
old paradigms left behind
when they shifted to a parallel place.

wake up, begin again, wake up.
be the lightning

imperial, mysterious, in amorous array...

I'm not sure if it belongs either - maybe it's two poems. I'm interested to hear what other people might think.

Either way I really enjoyed reading this out loud - especially the first stanza. I like how it sounds choppy and harsh all those tuh - fuh and kuh sounds.

I'm glad you posted this, I really enjoy it.

yeah, i was thinking that the first stanza might be the beginning (or middle, or end; who knows?) of a different poem all together. the second two stanzas seem fairly complete unto themselves.

i'm so glad you enjoyed it/them! ^___^
